Wow on 03/13/2014 huge transaction  Anyone know what that is all about?  https://blockchain.info/address/1933phfhK3ZgFQNLGSDXvqCn32k2buXY8a

Most likely a wallet owned by an exchange.

This could be a whale changing his cold wallet address, but most probably they belongs to an exchange.

we shouldn't focus on any rogue transactions. large transactions dont really mean anything. some people have funds and transfer them and some dont.

its 55 million USD worth and you gotta scroll down a bit to see what you are talking about here.

but its just someone with some coins, big transactions happen.

I don't think so. The address has transactions dating back to 2011 and the only exchange that was in existence back then was Gox. In my mind there are only two potential explanations to this: one it has something to do with SR (unlikely) or two, it is an early adapter that is either cashing out or otherwise moving their coins around.

Some more information here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=508683.msg5614972#msg5614972

Looks like a MtGox customer moving their funds. The BTC withdrawals from MtGox to the Main BTC address https://blockchain.info/address/1933phfhK3ZgFQNLGSDXvqCn32k2buXY8a are listed below (from the leaks).

The early adopter sitting on $70m in BTC is probably shitting himself after knowing the hacker got all his personal details, passport scan, home address etc. He knows he's going to be a HUGE target for criminals.

It is also possible some gunmen were already sent to his home address and threatened to harm him and his family unless he transferred the bitcoins to the criminals. I hope this is not the case otherwise criminals now control all those bitcoins.  Undecided
