I think other ranks have been considered, but like blacksails said above the forum doesn't need any more money (in the words of theymos). I also don't see much point for people to buy lesser ranks, not to mention I don't think many people would donate a smaller amount anyway. They'll be wary that the same thing will happen with the original price and end up paying essentially thousands for a mere useless title  .

Although not likely (since the forum has sufficient money), but theymos might:

I intend to add new, cheaper donator ranks. I won't decrease the price of the old ranks, though I may rename them (to "Donator+" and "VIP+" or something like that).
