Well then you should do your own research before saying such things.
Why wouldn't twitch be worth that much?
Take a look here: http://www.techspot.com/news/57839-amazon-swoops-in-and-buys-twitch-out-from-under-google.html
http://gizmodo.com/why-everyone-wanted-to-buy-twitch-1626616566

I am however surprised at Amazon being the one stealing it in front of Google. If it was Apple instead, it would be incoming lawsuit @Amazon.  Cheesy

I thought they were just sold a couple of months ago, weren't they? I haven't even heard of that site before "Twitch Plays Pokémon"... I guess alone that game or project spread the word quite a lot! It's crazy, but those things have happened before on the Internet!

He's probably just speaking in general. It is a ridiculous sum, but obviously there's several giant companies that can see the potential in it so they pay the big bucks. I'd never even heard of it personally, but I'm not a gamer.

Those users can be fake, altaccounts and those views may come from bots. What is the total profit of that site? Personally I never heard that site before until now. If I'm an investor I would buy that site maximum 100 million usd. It has only 50 million users. I'm sure most of it does not came from western countries.

But the website still accounts for a ton of traffic. If it really is one of the biggest bandwidth users, it is interesting to see it go to an already established very big company in the Internet business. We'll see what they plan to to with it!
