Recommend getting the S3 for mining? Can someone support me on solo mining vs pool mining? I am now able to get a S3 miner for very cheap. What is the ROI roughly like for this?

get it if it is free and your power is under 10 cents a kwatt

mine at westhash or nicehash same company .

westhash covers north america.

nicehash covers the rest of the world

you will earn about 600 usd with it.

if it was free and your power is 10 cents a kwatt.

not to mention all the nice heat it gives off in a cold spot in your home.

if your power is over 20 cents the call is a bit harder to make

If it's free, your only costs are the PSU (assuming you don't have one already) and then electricity to run it.  Until the next difficulty change, you can expect that S3 to earn you 0.009301BTC a day before power costs.

So you've got a PSU... your only costs then are electricity.  If I could accurately predict BTC a week in advance, I'd be filthy rich... never mind next year .  The S3 allows you to configure 3 pools in the default UI.  You can load balance them if you want.

1) first choice
2)second choice
3)third choice

use nicehash

then use westhash

then use any other pool third

If you are only getting only 1 S3, I recommend you to use a pool instead of solo mining.
