Rather than put on my 2KWH heater, I will have some mining equipment around the house, Why not earn as I burn?

I cant sleep in alot of noise, I was wondering what I could use in/near the bedroom for heat?

The older KNC units were fairly quiet, 700W for 500GHs is not bad, and they are cheap now.

Whats the quietest miner you can think of?

It's been summer for almost 400 days here in Southern California.  95F today.

I can't wait to see a temperature that might actually warrant putting some pants on.

True, but there is a certain "deadness" to winter that makes summer all that more special.

All those miners are quite loud, especially the really big ones. But I expect quite a few people around here to use them to heat their houses or apartments during the winter months. I only have a couple of ASICMiner USB miners left over from last year, they give me less than 10W in heat...

I should have gotten into Bitcoin back in 1992...

The old ones could survive without electrical warming of any kind, even near the polar zone.

I think we can do too, and save our energy bill the planet.

Girls work well in the bedroom, but they can be a bit noisy at times.  Wink

Definitely invest in better heating and clothing. Wool is surprisingly a lot better than cotton at retaining warmth.

Hm? I think we're working toward the same goal. I'd love to hang out in Canada during the 60*F-low Summers. Electrical warmth in the short-term means natural warmth in the long-term.

Have you ever thought about ear plugs?  You can buy ones that are specifically meant for sleeping with.  i have the same issue as you, I can hear the damn clock ticking in the next room some nights.

I decided to try a pair of disposable ones to see if they would annoy me, and I was shocked at how noticeable they weren't, so I purchased some quality sleeping ones.  They are extremely comfortable, can't even really feel them.  The only problem I've found is that I have even more trouble sleeping without them.  Also, there is sleeping through the alarm.  But a vibrating alarm on the cell phone took care of that.

I have baseboard heating in my room and they are extremely quiet except for the odd click.
