I doubt you will be able to get the wine thru customs.
At the very least they will let you jump endless hoops.

You are correct, just did some research and its illegal in the USA....the UK is fine as have shipped it there a number of times, not sure about other countries.. I will be in San Francisco in a few months though and have no issue taking a few bottles in my case...

Nope - usually the snakes are venomous and over time some venom dissolves in the wine.. Its usually just a few shots at a time (unless you are brave) and you get mildly drunk with occasional hallucinations. I have been here in Vietnam many years and never heard of anyone dying from this stuff.

Braver drinkers may eat some of the snake - eg/ heart, gallbladder, stomach which I have seen before...

There are A LOT of snakes in Vietnam and some farms breed them purely for the wine. The scorpions I believe come from Cambodia.

Getting one thru airport security is much harder than thru mail customs.
You should think about that, they will detain and possibly even jail you.
