I am a new miner,

Reading other threads I noticed there is not a lot of patience or respect for new miners. Which sucks. Everyone in the BTC promoting circle is trying to sell Bitcoins like the best things since sliced bread, but then when you join the movement you find that there is no love for you in the community.

Anyway, to those who can sympathize with me, I need you to help me understand this:

I ordered 3x S3+ Antminers. I noticed many threads of people talking about how it is impossible to make a ROI.

It made sense to me when I tried every mining profitability calculator I could find on google to make the investment. All of them showing I could make a ROI within 4 months.

Here are the values input:

Hashrate: 453 Gh/s

Power: 355W

P.Cost: 0.057$/kWh (I live in Quebec)

Cost: 867$ [3x S3+] Still need a PSU

If someone can please make me understand what I failed to understand. Are those mining calculators bullshit and there to decieve?

Nothing makes sense. Huh

Go away noob! Tongue

Predicting profitability is a game very susceptible to a lot of variables.  When you used your online calculators, did you enter a starting date for the end of September?  What did you enter for a predicted difficulty increase?  Did you include the cost of the PSU you're going to need?

If you assume 10% increases in difficulty, you'll make a positive ROI.  If you assume 20% increases, you won't.

Jonny's Pool - Mine with us and help us grow!  Support a pool that supports Bitcoin, not a hardware manufacturer's pockets!  No SPV cheats.  No empty blocks.

Well since your saying S3+ i would say start time you are forgetting.

I still mine and believe in ROI.  It all depends on so many variables.
