I have sent a PM to Pride-C-CEX  who had verified the nwo dev,,,, all we need to do is asking him to refund ......take responsibility

Im sure he will try to get a refund from the dev and when the dev refuses maybe will reveal the scammers ID. I think there may be laws against that though, breach of privacy laws ? Who knows I'd be shocked if the dev returned the funds though so don't hold your breath.
do you know him?? is Pride-C-CEX a good guy!

Do YOU know him ? After all they're just making money from fees.. This could have happened on every exchange but that "verified by.." thing is a problem from c-cex.. This was like the third or fourth scam ..

Makes no sense to me, he won't refund, I did not trust C-Cex since day 1 and I do not trade on them.

Do YOU know him ? After all they're just making money from fees.. This could have happened on every exchange but that "verified by.." thing is a problem from c-cex.. This was like the third or fourth scam ..

Well the thing is, c-cex did what they should do i guess.
The problem is that they can do nothing about it, they can not spread an ID card on the internet, they can not go to the police ( i dont know where c-cex is located, if it is China, and the scammer comes from Africa, you can do nothing against the scammer ).

Cryptocurrencies is based on 99% trust. And it's hard to get trust in a new coin, many people want to earn fast money (ofc who doesn't) and start mining new coins because of the low diff, but are pissed when dev run away.

So the option is to let a company controll the cryptomarket and make laws to punish scam dev's.
BUT then a whole group will scream because they dont want the cryptomarket get controlled by a company ( what is most of the time from the gouvernment )

In short words, i think we can do nothing about this dev. Just nothing, its a lesson to NEVER EVER join an ipo.
If some1 on the street i dont know come to me and say: ej if u pay me 1000 euro, i will make it 2000 for you... Then i'm just dumb if i give him that 1k euro, and that's the SAME as IPO. Never ever pay without having the result before, also an nice OP is zero result.

At the end it's the responsability from the people to give money to an unknown person, so crying after when the unknown person runs away doesn't help you.

Just out of curiosity did anyone stop to think that an exchange cannot force a dev to stick around? Can you predict the future?  Or is this concept too hard to grasp?  All I see here is a bunch of people crying over an exchange when it was the dev who ran off... .how the hell do you expect refunds when dev has the money and this is crypto if you want refunds go back to fiat and the trust system you obviously have no place here.

Crypto doesn't mean a safe sanctuary for scammers.Since crypto is not regulated by any organisation or govt its members, community, pools and  exchanges should come forward and devise some guidelines to safeguard the interests of miners and investors.

In this case an exchange, a big organised organisation is/was in better position to have some guidelines to safe guard the interest of it's traders. And failing to do so they should take the responsibility of the scam.

So you are basically saying an exchange should cover the losses of developers that run off? You do realize how stupid that is right? How would any exchange force anyone to continue development of any coin, if you know of a way to force people to do things then you have figured out something amazing and unheard of. The dev showed their ID, promised the exchange to deliver the wallets and networks, then took off with the funds while the coding dev dumped his 200k they were supposedly using for a anon mixer. I'd like to know how anyone could predict this scenario with 100% certainty and then guarantee that for investors in decentralized monetary system......

An exchange as compare to  members or pools are professional organisation and they must have some guidelines to protect the intrest of it's traders -

-Why they have released all the funds immediately to a dev verified by them despite of recent scams?

-Why they didn't warn the investors of the risks associated with it?

Investors bought it not on the reputation of the newbie dev,but they bought when they saw "verified by an exchange". So it's responsibility belongs to the exchange not that anon ,newbie dev.

The exchange simply can not shrug off the issue and say it's not my responsibility.

They should devise the proper guidelines for an ICO or even listing a new coin.

And here in this case try to compensate, either partly or fully.

any chance for a community takeover - I mean, the amount of BTC stolen wasn't very large (unlike the CLST 300BTC ICO or the SYS 1500BTC ICO). What was it, 30BTC or something?

I mean relative to other recent ICOs, and I guess I assume C-Cex has pockets big enough to handle that. Seperately, I dont get the argument that C-CEX shouldn't at least provide the ID.

Well ok.. But i don't think a "takeover" would help.. Look at Onyx2.. Once a name got burned it is "doomed".

Simply don't use/trust c-cex.. whenever I see a "verified by c-cex" coin I usually skip it completely - I just added this one because a fellow miner of suprnova really wanted the pool - otherwise i would have also skipped this one (and would be right - once again..)

Yeah, C-Cex's name/reputation are certainly mud after this unless they think a little bigger about what business their exchange could be doing if they didn't think small. People are looking to get into coins earlier and earlier - earlier than bittrex - closer to the ground floor. They have (had?) a shot at becoming that place if it became an exchange more people could trust.

I edited my earlier message to say I assume they could handle 30BTC (as opposed to a bigger ICO loss on the scale of CLSTR) and that they'd see a long-term interest in doing that and "buying" some loyalty. Did wonders for Poloniex's reputation when they were hacked.

As far as a community takeover - a takeover by a reputable dev verified with POD (and getting 5+ stars) would be able to successfully rebrand the coin as something completely new and untainted.

a takeover won't do. you need a really strong plan to revive a coin. if the c-cex was given a fake id and failed to see this then i think people should get refunds. if it happens some nice profits to be made

one thing for sure the id process c-cex did on the coin should be made public. if c-cex are found to have made a verification on a false ID. they are at fault. they should refund investors and make sure it doesn't happen next time
