Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

i know that you like this  Grin

Going down some more I guess.  Honestly, I think it's going to be quite a long time before this trend gets reversed, and even then I think shorting has tempered the market strongly enough that we won't ever again see the kinds of upward movement we saw last year, or even early this year.  I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing either.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.

Not still, we flipped back to -.15 or so within an hour, and we will probably flip back there again within an hour.

BTC/USD Long Position
We charge you USD Sell interest, and pay you BTC Buy interest every hour.

BTC/USD Short Position
We charge you BTC Sell interest, and pay you USD Buy interest every hour.

And BTC sell interest dove an hour or so ago, thus the positive swap rate.

Check out the interest rate chart on bitcoinica (http://charts.bitcoinica.com/interest_rates), the dips are where the short swap went positive, this dip does seem to have lasted longer than the last few though.

Edit: and as I predicted it just flipped back. I may start a subscription service for swap rates....

Shall we draw from this the conclusion, that long positions outweight short positions by far atm on bitcoinica?
Or are there other factors, that can cause those numbers? Roll Eyes
