Well that depends. Confirming 50cent cashouts is not proving they are a "trusted user". They would be trusted if everyone initiated a withdrawal at the same time (ponzis can't do this as the total bitcoin balance is less than what is owed users.)

You've got a point. A signature campaign will attract more investors (hopefully, for current ones) and last longer. Both will die eventually, the question everyone doesn't know is when.

Even if he was trustworthy, people would (should) ask for escrow. 4.5 btc is a lot to giveaway! The main address from which payouts are made for the site doesnt even have that much!
