The games i have in mind are Empires Dawn of The Modern World, Warcraft 3, C&C Generals, and Rise of Nations  Have fun playing!  |

Empire Earth II, Civilization V and DEFCON: Everybody Dies (which is kinda a strategy game) are a few I strongly like.

Sid M/Civ is coming out with Beyond Earth which is supposed to be like a new version of Alpha Centauri
I've been playing Endless Legend and it's fun and decently stable for a pre-access on Steam.

Civilization 2 and Civilization 2: Test of Time were great games. The newer ones are just too complicated and feature graphics that are too complicated for me to get. I also just don't have the time anymore to spend a whole night playing those games. You just can't simply stop playing, ya know  |

Command and Conquer: Kane's Wrath (The online community is tiny and you'll have to do weird stuff to play online now)
Age of Mythology (is fucking awesome)
Warcraft 3 was fun
What I would recommend is League of Legends (But it's a MOBA) so it's like group tower defence. It's free and a lot of fun.

I always liked The Settlers 2! Does that count as a strategy game? I always liked to build up a large working infrastructure. But my kingdoms always ran into shortages of people having certain professions as a game ran for some time.

There is an open source game, very similar to Age of Empires, that is constantly being updated by its creators: http://play0ad.com/. For anyone who likes AoE, you might want to give it a try. |

I guess MOBA strategy games like DOTA2 does not count? Because this is pretty awesome strategy game to me. As well as any Blizzard strategy.
