I'm wondering if any other wallet is looking into this and if it's even something wallets can cooperate with?
Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

The API for hooking into Local Trader is public, and I'd be happy to help another wallet use it.

Mycelium let's you hold your private keys private.

Do you have a link for some API docs ?

At the moment, sadly, there is no documentation, just the code:
https://github.com/mycelium-com/wallet/tree/master/public/lt-api

We plan to write some documentation and example code once we are finished with the HD version of the wallet.
If you want to integrate local trader into a specific project, feel free to contact us for help!
