Quick update.

I did an interview with Twitter user @outragedhuman who is one of the writers of http://www.altcointoday.com which outlined my motivations for creating CoinmarketsCoin as well as some other stuff.  Well, it was a pretty long chat.  Basically I can talk crypto all day.

It's still very early days in the coin's history but I am humbled by how it is going and the reception.  One of my goals was to create a fair launch coin which is why I went to great lengths to do things such as have official mining pools ready to go as well as wallets.  There was an unforeseen issue with the Windows wallet where it complained of missing DLL files.  Thankfully the crypto community helped me out and that was resolved very quickly.

I am very impressed the following:
 - Many have been introduced to renting rigs and mining with CoinmarketsCoin
 - Many have helped each other get started with mining
 - Many have commented that this is the first time that they have downloaded a wallet.
 - Many have been introduced to staking coins.  This diversity increases the security of the network.
 - The number of coins staking is sky high.  As of writing this 48% of coins in the network are staking.  Hopefully this percentage can maintain or increase.
 - The number of clients seen in the network is very high.  As of writing this, the number of clients seen on the network is 118.  This is particularly impressive as it rivals more established coins that have been out for months.  Hopefully this number rises as more people get introduced to CoinmarketsCoin.

Again, I could go on forever but look out for the article by @outragedhuman which covers much more.  I mentioned that he should take his time with writing it but expect it in the next week or two.

Seems like many think it is unnecessary for jyap to submit to PoD because he is already well known, respected, and easily accessible throughout part of the crypto community such as twitter and IRC. In fact, I am pretty sure you can find info about him and what he has done regarding cryptos quite easily. So basically, jyap isn't some anonymous developer who you know nothing about.

But, that said, the community is larger than twitter and IRC so although some people find it pointless for jyap to submit to PoD, he should nonetheless.

It will probably be more hurtful down the line if we become too IRC/Twitter-centric.

How fast are you mining? If you are in the Khs range, you may be waiting a while. Here is how the mining works for some clarification.


When you are mining, you are submitting shares. Your speed and diff come into play with how many shares you submit and how they are paid out. Submitting 1,000 shares at diff 8 is not the same payout as submitting 1,000 at diff 1024 but that will come into play later.

When a block is found, the network takes 510 confirmations for it to mature before they are spendable, same as if you found a block staking your wallet. The block has the TX to the pool wallet so during this time of the reward - the 1.5% but can't be sent in a TX until this is matured.

At block times of 1 minute, this is about 510 minutes or about 8.5 hours for those rewards to start confirming if you had at least 10 coins of that block. Every hour the payments run, if your address has more than 10 JBS, you will get the pool payout. If not, you will continue to build your balance until you break the 10 JBS and then the payout will send to you.

I had my local cpuminer running at about 22KH for 36 hours or more, and a rented a rig that was slightly faster for 9 hours, both at diff 256

I was just hoping to see a little return before throwing more resources at it, plus I'm having a hard time finding reasonably priced rigs

your pool doesn't give much feedback though I did see my address under Workers Stats a number of times while the rented rig and local were going at once, it said 256 or 512 shares at different times

so basically then I don't even have 10 JBS yet is the most likely cause?

Difficulty is high man, i'm renting 80 mh/s and it's about 6k coins a day, try renting at least 40-50 mh/s
