How much for a laser that is capable of burning a hole through items like bread, salad, etc?
Do-able or not even?
Bread and salad? You need to set your sites higher. Smiley

Did not know that was possible.
I think that would be dangerous considering if it gets into the wrong hands, someone can burn skin, etc lol...how much for something similar?
Close to six figures, all in system cost with the power supplies, optics and water cooling was probably there. These obviously weren't handheld units, they're normally be used for laser welding.

With falling laser diode prices, plus a stronger American dollar that lets me reduce the profit margin and still make the same in my local currency, I have reduced prices on many items permanently!

Notable examples are the 2200mW 462nm blue laser that is now $299 (before: $349), and the 2800mW 445nm blue for $269 (before: $299)

I just got an email from Wicked that they're not selling to US customers anymore as of Jan1, and they will stop international orders shortly thereafter. Have there been any big law changes, and if so are those going to affect you?

I don't think there have been any law changes, shipping working lasers to the US have been deep in the gray zone for years. However, I do it a bit differently, I ship the lasers partly disassembled so that they can technically be classified as parts rather than laser pointers. In addition to this, my store is so small that I doubt any law enforcement in any country cares or even is aware of my existence, so I'm not too worried. I intend to keep worldwide business going for the foreseeable future.

Either way, actually ordering a laser is no problem at all. I have shipped hundreds of orders to the US and not a single time have I heard back from a customer saying that the package was seized, so the chance of that happening is close to nil. If anything I think American customs will be even more lenient now that the world's largest laser seller is out of the picture for them.

Exact sum is shown during checkout, depending on the package weight it is about $12 for worldwide shipping I believe.

Are you sure these are legal in all countries?

I can't possibly keep track of the laws of all countries. I try my best to make them legal to import by keeping the lasers semi-disassembled and treating them as electronic parts rather than laser pointers. Out of hundreds of orders, less than 1% have been stopped by customs, and only in only country, Australia.

But even if they are illegal, if you just use it responsibly and discreetly, I doubt any law enforcement will mind.
