I'm sorry, the only laser in stock now is a 1300mW laser..

I've ordered more parts, but it'll probably be a few weeks before it arrives.

I'm aware that I haven't handled the stocks very ideally, but please understand that I'm just a student and don't have a lot of money, so I can't afford to order large amounts of stock. Also the interest isn't as high as I thought, there has been plenty of "I'm so tempted"-posts, but I've only made three sales with bitcoin so far, after several months. I've ordered a little ad in the next issue of bitcoinmagazine, and I'm noticing traffic going up, so maybe that'll change sometime.

Please do note though that I accept pre-orders, so that you can order an out-of-stock item or a custom laser, and I'll order the parts and ship it out. It takes longer than in-stock items, but it is an option if you are really interested in a certain laser.

EDIT: And there went the last blue laser too, heh. More should be in stock in less than a week though.

Can you get hosts that have a side momentary button instead of a maintained endcap button?

I'm sorry, I don't know of any good laser hosts that has side-momentary button, and even if there were some, it would create some complications, like probably being unable to offer it as a kit that doesn't need soldering for assembly.

The green 100mW is now in stock! We are also expecting to stock different green lasers sometime in the future, for example 50mW and 170mW!

Here's the laser in question: http://bitlasers.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=49&osCsid=v6247blp6o87jfvsod173k0su3

It has a very bright beam considering the power, it's the perfect choice for things like stargazing and long distance pointing or signaling.

Another bump!

We have more lasers incoming, including the 1800mW beast, and some cheaper lasers such as a 50mW green and violet. Both will probably be priced at around $45.

And as always, if you want a kind of laser that is not listed or that is out of stock, you can contact us for a custom order at gitlem@lavabit.com .

Nah, I haven't. Their diodes are kind of expensive and they don't really fill any role that other diodes can do just as good. The exception are the exotic wavelengths, but they are hundreds of dollars for a single diode for now..  Sad

Though there are one diode that I would like to build something with once, the Nichia NDB7875 (at least the laser community thinks that's what it is), should be able to produce at least ~2200 mW of blue, but again, it's expensive. The whole laser would probably be over $300, I don't know if there is any interest for that..

I was only curious because I recently did a build with what I assume is that same diode you mentioned. It's spot is very long and flat when focused, but from a distance, and I was simply curious if you had tested them yourself. I feel that the spot should be at least a little more round, but maybe I'm just expecting too much from something that burns everything it touches.  Grin

Haven't run it through an LPM, but at 1.8A, it should be putting out close to +/- 2w. Good fun.

I love my laser, and if anyone besides Grix reads this, go buy one from him right now. You will not regret it.

Cheers.

A lot of news:

We've entered a cross promotion with Bitbrew.net: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=104688
The 1300mW blue laser has been renamed for the occasion Cheesy . The next two will have a free copper heatsink upgrade.

Other news include four new products:

  • 50mW Green Laser
  • 50mW Violet Laser
  • Flash Paper
  • Smoke Cartidges

Many lasers and items are now in stock after a long delay in restocking.

In the near future we will release a new kickass laser: A very powerful 635nm Orange-Red laser, around 7-800mW! The price will be in the neighborhood of $199.
And lastly, the 1800mW Blue lasers will get a redesign soon, with better cooling AND lower cost!

I got my 1.8W the other day. Great laser, and while I don't have a meter to test the output power it will light a sheet of white printer paper up in 20 seconds and burn a hole through a black cardboard box in 10 seconds from close range.

+1 to Grix's service, too. There was some confusion with my address (he sent it to the right address but in the US instead of Canada), and as soon as he realized it he sent out a new laser, along with a couple batteries to compensate for the delay and my not being able to run it (I'm using 18650s instead of CR123As). Both packages actually arrived at about the same time, but great service by Grix.

Thanks for the positive review! I try my best to make every customer happy, even when mistakes happen Smiley

1300mW lasers are now in stock, and the 1800mW model should be in stock within 2-5 days! When the 1800mW gets back in stock, it will be in a new body with better cooling capacity, yet the price will decrease $20, to $239! Some technical trouble, might be a while before the new model is in stock. A current-style 1800mW is on the way, though.

And remember, if you buy something from bitbrew.net and use the discount coupon, you can save even more (even counting the cost of the delicious coffee)!

They should've been in stock weeks ago.. Two shipments of parts left China Sep. 13th and Sep 20th respectively and none of them have arrived yet. So it's hard to say, they could be in stock tomorrow, or the shipments could somehow be lost in the mail system entirely..

UPDATE: It seems the parts have finally entered my country, they should be in stock in a few days.
