BetXCP.com

For cryptocurrency sports bettors who want an alternative to centralized betting solutions, BetXCP is a peer-to-peer betting platform that eliminates the need for sportsbooks. Unlike traditional sportsbooks, BetXCP never has possession of customer funds!

* Vig free
* Decentralized
* Anonymous
* Peer-to-peer
* Flat 0.5% commission
* No logins or accounts

The cool thing about BetXCP is that you're betting against other people, not a bookie. When you create a bet, Counterparty searches for opposing bets that match your criteria, escrows the funds of both users, and distributes winnings as appropriate after the game ends.

Because BetXCP never touches any money, we can't run on a fractional reserve or run any kind of long scam that centralized models allow. That, along with the decentralized nature of the funds, makes BetXCP a very safe way to bet.

To facilitate our model, BetXCP is proud to use the Counterparty platform.

We partner with Vennd for on-site, instant BTC -> XCP conversions.

We're happy to broadcast results of just about anything. Please PM me or post here to request other sports or games. We're also happy to do political or other real world events if there is interest, it will just take a bit of time to set up.

I would like to see the whole XCP/Counterparty abstracted away using this vennd service. Obviously, you also need more matches.
Also, I don't really understand the time differentials involved. How long does it take for bets to be active (i.e enter the blockchain), and how can one overcome the fact that the bets aren't instant and that the odds you say may not reflect the real odds when the transaction enters the blockchain.

How long does it take for bets to be active (i.e enter the blockchain), and how can one overcome the fact that the bets aren't instant and that the odds you say may not reflect the real odds when the transaction enters the blockchain.

Bets are active once a bet match is found and a block passes.

Here is a diagram that shows the process of decentralized betting: http://betxcp.com/howitworks

The odds you agree to bet at do not change. You are not exposed to line movements. If you create a bet, someone much exactly match the odds you offer. The amount matched can be different, but the odds are always what you previously agreed to.

Watch this video (it should start at 0:52 automatically) and see how the odds, in this case -135, are shown in Counterwallet as the specific odds you're requesting for your bet: http://youtu.be/jN46ttmuI0o?t=52s

Let me know if that helps clear up your questions or if you'd like further clarification on anything.

Only a few events offered.

Even the opening NFL game was not offered last night.

I sent a couple of emails with questions and no reply.

Is anyone really working this?

I hope so. It sounds great and the site is nice and slick.

None of the video links on this page are working.
http://betxcp.com/faq

I did the see the one on YouTube.

I like the concept!

So my Bit Coins turn into XCP for the duration of the event and then get turned back into BTC and end up back in my wallet (if I win) ? The price of BTC may have changed in those 3 hours - for better or worse, so I may end up winning more or less than I originally anticipated depending on the price or BitCoin during the game, correct?

Unlike sports books where the loser pays, you take your %, although a small one, from just the winner?

What are the fees for Counterwallet? Many wallets only allow funding by wire and charge a hefty fee in addition to the fee that my bank will charge me here in the U.S.

Maybe I have to  use Coinbase to get funds from my bank for free by ACH, buy a BTC and then transfer BTCs to CounterWallet? But Coinbase is cracking down on gambling sites. Will they still transfer to CounterWallet?

Thanks!

I believe it is on the blockchain. In the counterwallet you can create feed broadcasts that I think are the bet contracts. BetXCP usually has some of these contracts created, but there does not seem to be any at the moment. I have not found documentation online to find out how to write these contracts. I am trying to get XCP because you need this to create the feed broadcast.

Yes it is a great platform for bets. They seem to be creating the ability to do everything Ethereum can do except it is attached to the bitcoin blockchain which costs extra BTC and causes a lot of extra data on the blockchain. Counterparty seems to be far ahead of Ethereum in creating this environment, but I think if Ethereum can produce what they are promising then that will be the better platform.

By the way on BetXCP where you buy XCP from Vennd.io they sent my bitcoin back and did not send XCP, so I guess that service is not working at the moment. I guess they are not getting much action and are slacking of on the XCP betting thing. At least they took the time to send my BTC back minus a small tx fee.

No you are not the only one. There have been none for three days since I began checking. Maybe they are off for the holidays or maybe nobody uses it so they have not put a lot of effort into adding the lines. I was trying to get some XCP to see if I could figure out how to write a bet. It seems they call it a 'feed broadcast'.

Yes you need small amounts of BTC to make a XCP transaction which is why I think Ethereum should be a better implementation of this. though, I am impressed with what these guys have done so far.

8 years old and this project is still so far ahead of its time.. amazing.

Too bad it never really took off but the overlap between gamblers and Counterparty users just wasn't there at the time. It is now. The thing is the betting feature in Counterparty has been disabled in recent years. It was almost never used outside for a handful of experimental use cases like this one.
