Discontinuation of Antminer L1

Dear loyal customers,

The decision has been taken not to continue production of the Antminer L1

In response, all customers will be able to choose one of three options:
       1) The original order value of $599 will be refunded at 105% value [$629] by bitcoin at current market rates. Customers will receive bitcoin payment.
       2) The original order value of $599 will be refunded at 110% value [$659] by bitcoin at current market rates. This will be credited against any new S3/S4/C1 order placed in the web store.
       3) The original order value of $599 will be credited at 115% value [$689] against an S5 order placed in the web store. This will be issued in the form of a 15 day coupon, each coupon valued [$344.5].

Please await an email info@bitmaintech.com for further instructions.

Though we are sorry that we do not deliver this time, it still turns out that buying L1 from BITMAIN is a very best way to earn more Litecoin.
Data Analysis: In the beginning of L1 sales, you only need to pay 115.86LTC to buy one L1 per the LTC/USD exchange rate 5.17 in the early September. However, you will get 193.22LTC under current LTC/USD exchange rate 3.1. And then plus extra 5% value, a total amount you get is 202.88LTC per unit. Return on investment is 75%. If you choose coupon compensation, Return on investment is 91%.

AntMiner L1 for sales $5/MH/s ships in December

Only Available at http://www.bitmaintech.com

Today, BITMAIN is thrilled to announce a significant accomplishment in our Scrypt ASIC development – AntMiner L1 is launched. Global Sales open in the Beijing Time 22:00pm Sept. 3rd, (UCT+8:00 Time Zone) Shipping time is in December.

Our brand new, high-performance L1 will be hashing at 120MH/s with the market-best pricing of only $599.00 USD per unit with free shipping worldwide, hailing in at a market-topping rate $5/MH/s. This ensures our L1 will be absolute the best $/MH/s as well as power efficiency spec in the Scrypt mining market. What’s more, a dramatic discount will be given to bulk orders.
L1 will be produced with our state-of-art chip powered by the 28nm tech process. The efficiency is only 2.37J/MH at Core Voltage 0.81v on chip level. The Core Voltage and Hash Rate will be adjustable by software, over clocking and under clocking will be very easy to operate while miners trade-off the speed and efficiency. Moreover, the miner will be able to mine multifarious scrypt based altcoin, of which scrypt length can be 1024, 2048, 4096 (n = 10, 11 or 12).

L1 is a blade style miner similar with AntMiner S1, shipping without PSU.

Specifications:
Chip Core Voltage: 0.81v
Chip Efficiency: 2.37J/MH on chip**
Hash Rate: 120MH/s ±5% with great over clocking & under clocking potential
Power Consumption: 380 Watt at the wall**
Network Connection: Ethernet
Complied with: FCC / CE

Notes:
**Chip Efficiency: Efficiency is a simulation result. Though BITMAIN has good track records of making power effective miner, this is only simulation. The final number depends on the testing results before shipping and it is not binding term.

**Power Consumption: This figure depends on the PSU efficiency, ambient temperature and the accuracy of the power meters.

This is my favorite line: "Chip Efficiency: Efficiency is a stimulation result." Bitmain - you may want to change it to simulation minus the t.

If it is not a long term pre-order then i may bite. I'll keep my eye on it, but the above line is keeping me in stitches.  Smiley

I'm dissapointed that you're going further down the pre-order route bitmain, you're better than that. Too many of us have been burnt now (particularly fresh sting about black arrow at the moment).

Looks like they are shipping all in stock to hashnest their new cloud mining operation.

No more in stock for us. Bitmain you guys did a great job for most of us at one time and I for one am really happy with my mining units (still waiting on B8), but now we are just the little guys and our money is used to fund your bank account so you can ship in stock out and build our units when you feel the need to do so. You remember us don't you?

Profit before your customer base, I would not count on too many per-orders if I were you. At least from this forum.  Cool

But what the heck a newbie is born everyday.  Grin Grin Grin

Not you became a pre-order company.
Paying 3 to 4 months at this uncertain time is too difficult.

Of course all the new stuff has to be shipped to HASHNET first for TESTING!

TESTING requires the continuous use 24/7 for at least 3 MONTHs, so we can be very happy to get such well TESTED units earliest in DECEMBER!

 Shocked

3 months pre-order ?WTF ?  Huh
BITMAIN is turning into a really bad company, it's not what it used to be, shipping units within 48 hours!
now they give us 3 months pre-orders.
I belive BITMAIN is going same track as KNC, slowly turning into a scam company

It's very disappointing that Bitmain is doing this as a preorder. In the past, they've announced existing products and shipped from stock (mostly; the S3 was more like build to order). While the specs look good today, I think they will be inadequate after 3 months of difficulty increase, especially if the monster miners (like KnC) ship first and chew up the difficulty.

That said, it is interesting that the L1 appears to support Scrypt-N, which is often quite a bit more profitable than Scrypt if you look historically at the various multipools.

However if you look at Wafflepool, for example, it's mining mostly VertCoin. I think I read somewhere that VertCoin is moving from Scrypt-N to a different algorithm (Lyra2?). If VertCoin is the staple of Scrypt-N and it moves on, then I doubt that there will be any value left in Scrypt-N mining.

Was I helpful?   BTC: 3G1Ubof5u8K9iJkM8We2f3amYZgGVdvpHr

You're right, Vertcoin is moving to Lyra2, and even if it wasn't Scrypt-N just couldn't sustain this much hashrate (I'm assuming ~60 MH/s per L1 at N=11). Difficulty would skyrocket, profitability would drop through the floor.

Litecoin already has ~800 GH/s so adding a few hundred GH/s in December might not matter that much.

Anyway, too risky for my taste.

Isn't December a bit late for Asic delivery considering the volatility of LTC market . I don't want Bitmain to go  along the same route as other manufacturers .
