I thought I should take the opportunity to set the record straight, and
apologise to Betcoin.ag staff, after the dispute I was involved in with
them, thankfully came to an end. After 2 weeks of stress and frustration
at the thought of being ripped off for 23 bitcoins to the value of
around £7000, here I stand (or sit) feeling slightly embarrassed and
tremendously guilty because all my assumptions & accusations were proved
to be nothing more than assumptions & accusations!

I received a direct call from Anthony @ Betcoin, who to be fair was just
as suspicious as me, yet took all of about 5 minutes to reach the
conclusion that this had been one great big messy misunderstanding! We
had a good chat, and after Anthony explained things from his perspective
a little, I was able to understand so much more as to why they would put
me through such extensive security checks, but it all made so much
sense, once it was explained to me. I feel really awful for not being
more patient, although in my defence, and I know Anthony will agree, at
a time like that, you really scrutinise every last detail, you think to
much, sometimes talk to much picking up on the smallest detail as well
as thinking & typing at a million miles an hour!

So, I want to just clarify that anything you may have read, posted by
me, that suggested Betcoin.ag are scammers or fraudsters, I would like
to confirm that this is NOT THE CASE AND I ASK YOU TO PLEASE IGNORE.
Upon speaking to him, myself and my husband both concluded that we
should have been a little more patient, or not so quick to pass
judgement without giving them the opportunity to explain. All said and
done, you learn something new every day!

Please accept this apology Anthony/Betcoin as a fresh start, I really
regret getting you wrong and really appreciate your service and
exceptional customer support, and we look forward very much at the
prospect of playing on your site again (if I am still welcome that is?)

I'm sorry for wasting anyone else's time and also would like to offer my
appreciation to those who offered me support. Could I ask politely that
an Admin oversee's that Betcoin.ag has his trust rating thingy reset
back to whatever it was before. I've no doubt this would have been
adjusted due to my accusations.....Gulp.......xxThanksxx

Best Wishes

I'm glad to hear that everything was resolved to your satisfaction.

However, it is important to note that had BetCoin put a bit more effort into their customer service and done a better job of explaining what was going on, none of this would have had to happen.

Businesses need to understand that, regardless of how good your product or service is, in the end it's how you treat your customers that will determine whether you will have long term success or not.

If their trust rating really dropped on the forums for what you attribute as a "great misunderstanding", I firmly believe that the current rating system needs to be reconsidered.

And if their trust rating is fine after taking more than a week to pay a withdrawal, and failing to keep the customer properly informed about the reasoning behind the delays, then I firmly believe that the current rating system needs to be reconsidered.  Isn't slow payouts  and "security delays" while claiming that they are fine and have plenty of funds exactly what MtGox was doing before they eventually went under?

So what really happened?  Did you receive the bitcoins?  Where did it go?  Were you trying to scam them but changed your mind at the end?

Yeah what happened to the Bitcoins?

Did you read the post?

- snip -
really appreciate that you are now paying me back the bitcoins,
- snip -

It sounds to me like BetCoin is paying the customer now.  Do you disagree?

Were you trying to scam them but changed your mind at the end?

Considering the fact that BetCoin is "now paying" them back, they either succeeded in the scam, or they were right all along.  Either way, it doesn't sound like they "changed your mind at the end" about the fact that they were due bitcoins.

Makes it easier to see the relevant information while indicating that there is more context that has been trimmed out so it doesn't look like I'm trying to intentionally hide what was said.  Whenever I see someone use - snip -  or ellipses I expect to be able to click on the quote link and see that exact quote along with the rest of the context in the original post.

More than a week to figure out if they paid a single customer or not?

If their current support staff is that busy, then they need to hire and train more employees.

im sure it wasnt just about the payout, because she said they sent it but to wrong addy at first so they did payout but to who? they probably also looking for multiaccounting and bonus abuse. even the biggest poker sites take long time to investigate this kinda stuff, but i agree they need better support.
