There's more big money out there to be had than just winning over the Rove or Koch money and Rand is attempting to tap into all of it. Silicon Valley may very well be Rand's big ace up his sleeve not to mention he's likely to get way more support from the young and minorities than other GOP contenders. I am, however, very much aware that the Wall ST oligarchs would prefer Hillary to him in most any scenario unless Rand goes batshit and sells out. From monitoring him up til now, I see him trying to thread the needle on certain things but ultimately he hasn't shown any significant sign of turning on his dad's supporters. I'll take the Rand Paul path as it is the best case scenario at this point.

The cat is out of the bag. Voters no longer rely on mainstream news for accurate information.

Big money and marketing are no longer an effective tool to win an election.

Yeah... that's why ever more independents not affiliated with major political parties that can provide election funding are winning elections... not.

Independents are not winning because voters turn out rate is low. Most independent voters sit at home and complain rather than going out and do something about it.

Similarly, people don't think independent candidates can win and don't vote for them. They constantly state US is a two-party system but with enough support there could easily be a third party.
