We at Midas have been working this idea for several months now and are now getting ready to launch a new gold backed crypto currency. This is a pre-mined currency to be used as a store of value and wont be available for mining. We will lock every coin to 1/100 gram of fine gold. The physical gold will be maintained at Midas and audited by a certified auditor on a scheduled basis. Access to the physical gold is limited to trusted personnel. Actual facility for the gold meets U.S. banking guidelines. Should a Midas holder be in the area we will gladly facilitate a personal inspection. We would actually encourage that "seeing is believing" It will be freely traded on one or more of the crypto currency exchanges. We are hoping that some of the crypto coin owners will use us to diversify their holdings. This will allow for fractional gold coin/bullion ownership. www.midascoin.org

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in
Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it
will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Not us unfortunately we apparently have a namesake. Our model is very different. You actually own the gold and can have it sent to you. If the gold price goes up so does your holding. In our model you actually own a set weight of gold not the value of it.

This smells REALLY REALLY funny!! You should not be releasing a coin with the same name and also "backed by gold" as another coin that was announced days ago. Brand new account on top of that! The other coin also has MUCH more information and makes this one sound like child's play!
This was a failure as soon as you posted it!

Midas aka. King Midas according to Greek mythology turned anything he touched into gold. So the relationship to gold is not that odd. Unfortunate timing... I definitely see the irony All about timing...when we started this and reserved the domain name it was open...
