BoostPool.com with auto payouts in GRS (Groestlcoin)

Only for AMD GPUs. Especially the new ones, like R9 290 and R9 280X.

Github: https://github.com/BoostPool/boost-sgminer
Twitter (to get updates on new versions): https://twitter.com/BoostPool

Quick start guide
1. Make sure you have AMD GPU (CPUs or NVidia/Intel are not supported)
2. Download boost-sgminer 1.5 from here or compile yourself from here.
3. Try this exact command line to make sure everything is working out for you: sgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://sf1.boostpool.com:3333 -u FnzMEE2fkX31J5EjheNMo8pq2672Q5kjGh_test -p your@email.com -I 22. Or try example.bat from the boost-sgminer package.
4. If you don't have any problems and sgminer starts and you're getting accepted shares, then everything is great. If it is not working and you have AMD GPU - please post some details in the thread and we'll try to make sure it is working for you. If it is not AMD GPU - sorry, this will not work.

5. Now change the login to be your GRS address. You can use '_' (underscore) or '.' (dot) to have separate logins for your different rigs. There will be a single payout for all these workers. For example: FnzMEE2fkX31J5EjheNMo8pq2672Q5kjGh_rig1 and FnzMEE2fkX31J5EjheNMo8pq2672Q5kjGh.MyRig2
6. Change your password to be your email address. This is needed in case there are some promotions or I need to contact you. If you don't want to provide your email address, that's understandable - just set password to anything, like xxx.

7. Now you might want to raise the GPU frequency to get more hashrate from your hardware. You can usually raise GPU frequency to about 1060 from default 950 on R9 290 and 1100+ on R9 280X. You can also lower memory frequency to whatever values your card supports (150MHs on R9 290). Memory is not used in mining.
8. Check for best settings for your hardware in the list below.
9. If you have hardware not yet listed below or if you can achieve 5% or better hashrate than currently listed - please post in this thread or PM (GPU name, hashrate achieved, command line, operating system, AMD driver version, screenshot of sgminer screen if possible). 1000 GRS bounty for each config that does not exist yet!

10. You can see your statistics here. It is very basic currently, will be improved shortly [before the 22 September launch].
11. Payouts are happening once a day. Currently they are manual, so the time might be different each day.

12. If you need to specify a failover stratum server, please use stratum+tcp://ny1.boostpool.com:3333. This is a temporary server, I'm using it for development. Don't set it as primary server, only as secondary.
To add failover server, add this to your command line:  --failover-only -o stratum+tcp://ny1.boostpool.com:3333 -u YOURGRSWALLET -p your@email.com

13. There is a example.conf file in distributution. You might want to rename it into sgminer.conf. This way, you don't need to specify any parameters on the command line.

FAQ

Q: How is your multipool different from lots of others?
A: It uses optimized kernel and thus achieves better hashrate compared to sph-sgminer. This gives you more profit.

Q: Are there any hidden fees?
A: There are no "hidden" fees. Take the MH/s shown in your sgminer and multiply by daily "per MH/s" profitability and that's the approximate amount you'll get in your wallet.
You need to understand that daily profits will be different each day.
There is a fee that pool operator takes and it is undisclosed currently. Our pool likes to keep things simple. You know your hashrate and you know how much you get per MH/s. Everything else is redundant information. But we are doing everything that we can to make sure that this pool remains profitable for you (as otherwise the miners will simply leave the pool).

Q: Why is my hashrate so low? I used to have 16.7MH/s on R9 290 and now I have like 930KH/s
A: That is normal. Because boostpool can switch netween different algorithms, you would be getting different hashrate otherwise (depending on current algo). So it was decided to scale the hashrate to be consistent. So grs-sgminer shows hashrate similar to Scrypt hashrate on the same equipment. This way you can also compare your profits using poolpicker.eu

GRS Payouts are "Pay Per Speed"

This is a variation of "Pay Per Share", where for each "Accepted" share you are given some coins.
Because the miner can switch between algorithms, share from one algo has different price from a share from other algo.
In order to overcome this, the pool is "buying" your hashrate and paying proportional to your mining speed.

GRS Price per 1 MH/s (mining 24 hours straight with this speed) is published in https://twitter.com/BoostPool.

The value is set once a day during payouts. Similar to exchange rate in banks.
So you can decide for yourself if you want to mine on this pool or not before even doing any mining.

This way, any risks like incorrect forks or "bad luck on pool" do not apply to you.
All risks are on pool operator.

For example, if price is 1000 GRS per MH/s and you have a 600KH/s R9 280X and you mine for 12 hours on the pool, you will get 300 GRS (0.6MHS * (12/24) * 1000GRS = 300GRS).
This way you can immediately decide if you want to mine on boostpool.com today or not: just take your hashrate, multiply by per MH/s price and multiply by GRS price and you'll get your profit in BTC.
Compare it with other pools using poolpicker.eu and decide. For example R9 290 is 930KH/s (0.93 MH/s), GRS price is 0.00000200 BTC. That gives you 0.00186 BTC per day.

***

Primary server: stratum+tcp://sf1.boostpool.com:3333 ("sf" for San Francisco, "1" for version 1)
Failover server: stratum+tcp://ny1.boostpool.com:3333 ("ny" for New York, "1" for version 1)

Note: Real time statistics from "ny1" server is not currently displayed, so please use "sf1" server if possible. Payouts work from both, so no worries. [I'm mining on "ny1" myself and using it for new feature development]
***

3.5% of total GRS daily earnings is donated to Groestlcoin community for running various projects.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

don't understand why only amd, especially if you mine groestl.  Huh
And will you do if someone with an nvidia card try to mine ? Ban us ?

edit: actually not even interesting. sorry for the intrusion  Grin
and your "scaling" sound bad as it will be impossible to control anything...

Thank you for your post.

There is already a great miner for NVidia GPUs, I recommend to use it for all NVidia owners.

The scaling is needed to show the same hashrate when switching between different algorithms. And also this way it is easier to compare profits using poolpicker.eu and decide if this pool is good for you or not.

Yesterday's total stats: 9 users, 14.984 MH/s, 0.00707721 BTC/MHs

BTC payout processed, GRS will be processed shortly.

That's 0.0065818053 per AMD R9 290, which is a very good. I'd say excellent number.
Join right now!!!

And to be clear, these payouts are higher than normal. I'm expecting that it'll lower into 0.0015 - 0.0025 BTC per R9 290 per 24 hour range. So do not blame me when it happens :-)

As for now, join even if you leave the pool in a few days.

Welcome!

We're mining DGB currently and it is about 3X-5X profitable than other coins. That is abnormally high. Either its hashrate will increase or the price will decrease.

Usage: Use grs-sgminer 1.4 and connect to stratum+tcp://boostpool.com:3333. Use your GRS address as login. Password is ignored.

So the payouts are only in GRS? Is there any way that I could get payouts in BTC?

No if you put your BTC address instead ofGRS you'll get pay in BTC and you'll get a good amount believe me! ...

you must define your pool switcher algo.

many people do not like mining script algo.

so what's all your algo ?

because we have the right to know the  heat of the GPU, plus the power consumer for Gpu, because for X11 power supplyer, it can not run Script.

Hi!

Looks like you are asking two questions at the same time:
1) What algo does the pool use.
2) How much power does the GPU use.

My understanding, is that the power is more important to you...

Since this is a custom kernel, its power consumption does not match any of the other algos. X11, Scrypt, whatever.

I did some tests with a wattmeter on Sapphire R9 290 TriX. I'm getting 250W per card. See details here

I recommend you to do some detailed measurements on your hardware to be certain.

The kernel does not use GPU memory, so the power consumption should be lower than algos that use RAM (like Scrypt or ScryptN).

PS: If some algo is producing very low heat when mining, do you know what it means... ? It means that the kernel is not optimized yet.
It took me 3 months to write this optimized kernel. AMD Compiler is stupid and sometimes generates slower ASM code from more optimal C code. So it took lots of attempts.

Thanks

ok, i know the GPU power,  anyone care about the power consumer.

but you haven't specify what algo your pool will switch.    x11? or Groestlcoin and Myriadcoin-groestl ?

anyway, for the 1M if it is decrease to 0.001 btc, it is no profits, and even lower than x11.

Yesterday's numbers are:
27 users, 89.217 MH/s, 2102.42 GRS per MH/s (or 0.00273315 BTC / MHS in bitcoin terms).
That's quite a bit lower than the previous day. I think it will decline some more. Perhaps 2X (because DGB price is going down and because GRS price is going up)

GRS price is now increasing steadily, see:

Thank you for your contribution. http://coinia.net/groestlcoin/blockexplorer.php?q=c65b89a17d5892460ba7fe3d985c19ff0d5157f4536363a9ee6b76ff3d562394

PS: "thread-concurrency" is not used by grs-sgminer and gpu-memclock needs to be as low as possible (since RAM is not used in the kernel). Try setting to 1100 or lower (if your driver supports it).

Any failover pool to recommend? When I try to do fail over to cryptohunger, the hash seems to go haywire.

Hi!

You are correct. The failover server is being set up and will be available shortly.
If you really need to write something right now, please use stratum+tcp://optimizedpool.com:3333 But it is not working yet.

PS: Later the stratum servers will be available at sf1.boostpool.com and ny1.boostpool.com (for San Francisco and New Work locations respectively). But right now it is not possible, as the allowed server names are baked in inside grs-sgminer.

Thanks for the quick reply, another quick question, I have added _1 _2 behind my address for pool username. But when I view my rig in boostpool.com it doesn't show each rig. Did I do anything wrong?
