I have tried and tried to get a damn Linux AWS GPU instance going that will mine XMR with both GPU and CPU.
I can get the CPU to mine, no problem, using wolf0's minerd.
But, I can't get the GPU to mine.  I have tried compiling tsiv's miner and I even found a community AMI called 'XMR miner' that had ccminer-cryptonight already compiled/installed.  The error displayed says something to the effect of 'libcudart.so.5.5' not found or some shit like that when I try to run ccminer.

So, make it happen, share with me the AMI, and I will send you 2.5 XMR for your work once I have confirmed that it mines XMR with both GPU and CPU.

Already done. I posted a public AMI on Oregon region called XMRminer. It has Wolf cpuminer and tsiv ccminer already compiled and ready to go.

Edit: If you'd like to send me a few XMR, can do so here:

Code:
49jkaP1xDZrEYaWxtoToPzitbQh6Z7Vv8c3MwtP49wsZhJUR5VojrxcKgb76zT8XRU5AAWHVptx4RgxgLb5fX7iM2vBSKXA

Edit2: There should be .sh files in home directory that you can edit to connect to pools for the two miners, and the compiled miners are also in the home directory. Let me know if you have any questions or anything.

Edit3: Sorry, forgot to mention you need to tell ccminer where the cuda libraries are. Think this should do it:

Code:
sudo ldconfig /usr/local/cuda-5.5/lib64

OK, you are the person that created that AMI.  Cool.

But, I could not get ccminer to execute.  I edited the scripts & the cpu miner works fine.  The GPU doesn't.  The error message complains about a shared librarry not found, related to libcudart.so.5.5

I can create an instance and get back to you with the exact error.

Let me know if that doesn't fix it...

Thank you for this. Im playing around with it right now. Is it still profitable at this point in time?

No, I don't think so. However, Amazon offers a free micro instance for one year (which I use to run an IRC bot), and after a few weeks of usage they asked me to participate in a survey, which they gave me a $25 gift certificate for AWS for completing. So, if you can get a free $25 out of them, then it's totally worth it  Wink

(just make sure you run on spot instances, otherwise it's like 10x more expensive)
