blockchain wallet

Hey All

Can someone help me with blockchain wallet please...Just set one up and hour or two ago.
I typed in a second password and clicked the double encryption. Apparently now when I send money it will ask me to type second password. Sent someone 0.01 to test and it did not ask me for password. Logged back in and the double encryption box is unticked. Once I change a setting... I dont see a OK button or anything... so not actually sure if its taking it..... Am I perhaps doing something wrong... ??

I keep changing the currency aswell and it seems to want to change back each time I login... very anoying..

Also I keep getting the msg the site is trying to store something on my PC, I assume I do not need to let it do whatever its trying to do ?

A quick way to check if double encryption is enabled to to login -> click [Import /Export] -> [Continue] -> [Export Unecrypted]. If a password dialog doesn't popup then double encryption is not enabled.

Should be saved in your cookies.

It is trying to save some javascript files which can make the page load faster and enable you to access the page offline. It is not required.

Does anyone know if I can import addresses from another wallet into blockchain wallet ?
One of my wallets is from windows client and there is no money in them but I would like to import the addys blockchain wallet so I dont loose them.

I'd test it out.. but dont want to screw up my blockchain wallet =)

It's all about trust, you are trusting someone (know their name? address? anything but nick?) to hold your bitcoins securely.
and after the linode incident if they are on a vps you are trusting their host to an extent too

if you must use these online wallets keep a minimum balance there and use a secure wallet you have control over for the bulk of your funds

That seems a little unfair; there is a certain amount of trust to using blockchain; but they are a special case of online wallet.  All the work with the secrets is done by javascript running on your browser.  blockchain.info itself only stores an encrypted block of data that your browser decrypts with the password.

The trust is that their software hasn't been compromised; but other than that you aren't trusting that they hold your bitcoins securely -- if their database was published for all to see, it's unlikely any coins could be stolen.

i've been desiging a website that manages accounts using ewallet api services. i tried using blockchain.info, then their servers went down for over 24 hours. i lost interest with them and went with instawallet... i'm still new to this and i've only read a handful of reviews... any comments?
