Currently better than mining BTC directly, so I would say yes it is profitable.
Check out the Hashlets from GAWminers. They mine different scrypt alts and convert the payout to BTC for you. Soon they are planning to let you decide what crypto-currency you would like for your output. (ex LTC, DOGE etc)

If you want a profitable cloud mining service then I would skip GAW and choose for either LTCgear or Zeushash.
The hashlets are overpriced and their daily income decreases by the day while the others sell at a much cheaper price per Mhash and offer a free hosting period (1 year)

See my sig for LTCgear, there is a discount coupon which drops the price to only $850 for 160Mhash if you pay in BTC.
If you don't know the coupon code then just give me pm.

I don't like cloud mining too much personally but I do make quite a bit with it.

What kind of cloud mining power do you have personally?

LTCGear and Gawminers but I've been making about 50% more with LTCGear.
