The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

subscribing.
(I would prefer to list the articles in the wiki and link to the discussion there. Watching a wiki article is as easy as watching this thread. Press could contain all articles and they could be moved to "Press Archive" after a while. Grouping re-runs of identical articles could be managed easier, too. Guess we don't need a new thread for every re-run of the FBI-thing or others.)

Yeah.. the articles I've posted re the 'FBI-thing'  are distinct articles that just happen to be on the same topic. Where they are merely 're-runs'/syndicated copies - I've not created separate threads.
(e.g gizmodo/gawker  & wired/arstechnica)

I think it's generally appropriate to have a new thread for each distinct piece. It helps give an indication of how 'hot' the topic is, and allows commentary on the particular slant of a site/journalist.

You're right..  it is tricky to group identical articles under the current system because you can only edit your own posts.
