just download with 0.6.0. should take less than 2 hours.

My blk0001.dat chain file seems to get stuck at 1,1GB in size is this ok? I heard it's supposed to be around 6GB

It's indeed around 1.1 GiB at this point. You should have 176613 blocks at the time of writing.
