Spoken too soon: https://blockchain.info/tx/681a8696e7ab54c983364fd45987ef2f6a8b4a09584bf70e5e3b46a6689e8b10 Added a tag to my address as well, looks sweet Btw, is that tag thingy like permanent? or it can be removed? Never received anything from them but i once received 0.0136 from an unknown address, i was happy to get it at the time but next day my blockchain wallet was hacked and i lost it along with about 0.002 of my own. There is no way to tell if it was conected but it was strange. Always sus on anything for free now.
Is this possible, could this be a hack, can they somehow steal bitcoins this way??

Wow this is really cool, i never seen this before. I guess vanity addresses are not needed anymore. Vanity addresses still have their place as the details are in the actual address. These are only tags and AFAIK these only show up on Blockchain.info. Forgot to add, these tags are actually useless if you work with a HD wallet as your address keeps on changing for security purposes, that is unless you keep on using a single key which is not recommended.

They "tag" their address by signing a message on the blockchain.info website and the tag will be available to others on blockchain.info block explorer. If you use another block explorer then you will not see this tag.

It's simply a new way of advertising your services... People may call it SPAM, yeah, I guess it is. But since people are opening up threads about this, shows that it is working rather well. They got a pretty decent exposure.

Hey laxotrade can keep on sending the coins.. they send anywhere from .0001 to .001 (at least for me) While its not a lot of money, ill take it.. I think the lowest you can send and have it make it is .0000537 or something like that. Im probably off by a decimal place, etc.

Actually if the ad send 0.001, I might check the site. I received recently 1 satoshi, I was curious and found transaction comment on blockchain.info, but for 1 satoshi Im not going check the site

How often do they actually do that? I mean 0.001 may be worth a dollar soon, so it's not exactly dust anymore in my books. Really wonder if the whole plan works out in the end. Yet the signature campaigns on this forum also flourish.

In Satoshi client (Bitcoin-qt), about 5500 satoshi is minimum you can send. But some wallets allow to send 1 satoshi and some miners adding it to the blockchain when the correct fees are paid!

Received another from Laxo. First one was 0.00001 and second one was 0.0001
First one was on an address with a tag but second one was not. I did however use the second address on a faucet so they might be targeting those addresses where payments from faucets has been made.
This form of advertising is at least better than your normal email kind of spam as the advertiser is actually paying something in order to 'spam'.

Most nodes and most pools will reject transactions that contain outputs smaller then this amount. There have been very few such small transactions that have confirmed because of this, however there appear to be a small number of pools who have not made this configuration.

I know these are just spam advertising, but they always spook me when I get them. Dunno why. Received another 0.01 BTC yesterday from them...
You got 0.01 from them? I got two but they were much smaller amounts. How do I get 0.01? That's nuts .

Ok got my 0.0001 from Laxo Trade today, would be interesting to know how much they have put into this now considering some people are getting 0.01 btc Also how many of these handouts might be going to addresses with lost passwords ect?

Yeah, they must've spent quite a bit. Are they all being sent from the same address? You could check and see how much they've sent if they are. Received another 0.01 BTC yesterday from them...
Some people recieved over 0.01 because they sent money to several addresses controlled by the same wallet.
