recd. 0.00000001 BTC from BtcSmart , Never going to check out that site. This is interesting. I would think that more people would be curious as to what site has just sent a random payment to them, I know that I certainly was (I googled them)

So is this definitly nothing to worry about? I've had a couple of dust payments from this and others before and I've read from some higher members here that they're trying to track or trace your addresses or something or is this just fud?
Although it's probably a lot easier tracking addresses that your've sen btc to i don't think this would be the case as you can just track anyones address anyway. So is this definitly nothing to worry about? Yes it is fud, these spam payments are used only as advertisement. Many who receives unknown payment are curious who sent it and check blockchan.info comment. If your worried about not spending this spam payment from address you dont want use anymore because you had there no unspent input anymore for long time, use coin control and just do not use the spam payment - but you should never reuse adresses if your very concerned about privacy anyway Thanks. Still seems a bit weird they would go to all this fuss just to spam promote their site. Arent the links only available on blockchain.info? Not everyone uses that as a blockexplorer.

Is there a way in Bitcoin QT to disable recieving super small transactions if you want? Or something that we can do to avoid being flooded with silly small transactions.

I see there is another spammer on the block. BitSmart or something. Saw two 1 satoshi unconfirmed payments on my wallet when I checked a transaction earlier on BlockChain. Was not aware of them as they have no confirmations as yet. Now this is spam. At least Laxo trade gives you enough to cover a transaction or two but 1 satoshi....... They should increase transfer/mining fees to something like 0.01 for any transaction with a value lower than say 1,000 satoshi. If you transfer 1,000 or more then normal fees apply. I think that will prevent this kind of spam or at the very least make the spammers pay for their advertising. EDIT:Here's one of their transactions on the BlockChain - spammed around 80 people with 1 satoshi just on this one transaction https://blockchain.info/tx/c909a614d564a37251642cfe696326bf7dda94c14c30ebdeb2d0a741de5f4139

It seems that bitsmart appears to be copying laxo in their advertising methods and I would not be surprised if we see more of the same in the future.

Been getting an average of 2x 0.0001btc payments a day from this Laxo trade company, it will cover a few tx fees but I'm starting to get worried about having so much dust in my account. Might check out this site for an email address and tell them to remove my btc address from there list.

Received another 10,000 satoshi from Laxo Trade yesterday and another 10,000 satoshi from an unknown address promoting Child Porn, here is the transaction on BlockChain.info https://blockchain.info/tx/f51c54e046ff6f774af32e66b6263d4e522f7b791c47df78764a78936a40df5fGuess this kind of 'spam' is bound to increase tenfold over the next year. I think the core development team need to look at ways to prevent this. Not sure how though, maybe with a minimum fee per address you're sending to instead of of a minimum for the whole transaction. But that would defeat one of the advantages of bitcoin.

Your statement is similar to you saying "I do not want people depositing random quarters into my bank account". It is money for you that you would not otherwise control.

True but I was thinking of the impact it has on the BlockChain of bitcoin. Take the Bitsmart company who is spamming with thousands of 1 satoshi payments at a time. Surely this must have an impact on the size of the BlockChain? Also, when running a business and having an address that is publicly visible on BlockChain.info for clients to monitor deposits the last thing I want on there is a whole bunch of deposits from Child Porn sites. Those not in the know will think that I'm involved in that kind of thing due to these deposits.

Those not in the know will think that I'm involved in that kind of thing due to these deposits. The bitsmart transactions will likely never actually be part of the blockchain because they did not pay a high enough fee. The transactions will only stay in the memory pool of the nodes for a few days. If they did have their transactions confirmed then they would have paid for this privilege just like other people do. If the transactions take up a lot of space on the blockchain then they would need to pay the miners a lot for this. The "tagged" address is likely only one address used by the business. I would doubt that all transactions that the business would hold would go through such address

They are trying to get people to visit their site. It is a form of advertising. They have their address tagged to their name and website. I think it is a very effective way of advertising themselves.

I don't care too much about advertising from Laxo trade, not that I will visit there site but I don't want anymore child porn text headers. I will be changing my address just because of this.
