Nobody is going to do this even with a verified account. Escrow is also useless for transactions with paypal. If you can use PP why can you not use bank transfer or something else instead?

Why you not use virwox.com instead ?

You can't buy big amount of BTC from Virwox, they have limit weekly according to your account status.

Easy. Read through the Scam section, it will become quite clear.

When the subject of buying BTC with Paypal comes up, I often remember this:

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

It will be interesting to see if Braintree's acceptance of BTC helps to change Paypal at all (chargebacks, etc.).

bitstamp requires scanned ID, I can't imagine that someone is trading there apart from using their price ticker.

Many of them are asking IDs... especially in US/EU. I wont be wondered if FBI or Secret Service has a bitcoin Exchange platform. Do not wonder if someone comes to you with a money laundering or TAX questions... I do not recommend use US based exchangers which asks IDs. e-gold, e-bullion, liberty reserve are nice examples...
