Awesome list. Got a bit nostalgic seeing so many places where I've registered got shut down

Also found many which I've never heard of and got surprised by the huge amount of Chinese exchanges.

Anyway here are some observations:

Allcoin.com - Important Notice About the Allcoin.com Takeover

bityes.com - In order to provide more efficient and convenient services, BitYes has been integrated to Huobi on Aug 31st.

coinmkt.com - ANX International Is Retiring The CoinMkt.com Domain. They offer a link to digatrade.com which I don't see in your list.

masterxchange.com - It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing we are going to shut down the exchange in a few weeks.

yacuna.com - We are shutting down

upbit.org - Seems to be a site about hummingbirds???

Hi @misscrypto thanks so much for the update. Keeping up with this is quite a chore so I appreciate it.
All of your changes have been added.

I would also encourage people to post here when an exchange appears unattended or when withdrawals are disabled.

It's not a perfect record of Bitcoin exchanges by any means, but it might be useful for people to see how many exchanges have come and gone. Or if you're wondering what happened to an exchange you used, maybe we can give some closure.

Whenever possible, I am going to start making screen snaps of home pages when they display a closing message.

So far in 2015, we have documented 47 Bitcoin exchange closures/failures/hacks/thefts/mergers in 2015.

The moral of the story: do not leave coins on exchanges if you can't afford to lose them.

To all others, if there's nothing better going on in your life, feel free to manually plod through the list and post here the exchanges you find that are dead/dying. I only have time every few months, so help is alway appreciated.

Any college students in CS need a project?
How about a python script to go through the list automatically and log any dead exchanges. If you're really good, it could creat an image of the exchange's front page and send it to imgur.  Then we could really keep an eye on what's going without a human having to manually visit 100+ links.

I do not own this list. It's public domain so do what you will with it.

I think OP should list stable exchanges. The exhange you mention doesn't have any information about their address:

Which means they run away very easily.
