You bought 12 gigahashes, you need to wait for payments to arrive. Your gigahashes are mining away, when the pool gives us a payout we pass the BTC onto the customers. You won't be getting constant payouts, you only get payouts when the pool gives us a payout, so we can pass it on to you. Sometimes there are big gaps between the payouts.
Also, it looks like you haven't used a calculator, you can try this one:

As for downtime, we have our miners going, and yes, sometimes they shut down or need maintenance, but when they do (and they rarely do) we have our contingency fund to pay the customers for the lost time.
