Charlie Shrem, twenty four year old co-founder and CEO of the Bitcoin exchange company BitInstant, is set to face five years in prison after reappearing in court, with his sentencing to take place on January 20. BitInstant was founded in 2011 by Gareth Nelson and Charlie Shrem with the aim of allowing customers to make purchases from over 700,000 vendors through Bitcoin, including Walmart, Walgreens, and Duane Reade.

I don't get it.  So anytime you intend to sell anything that has value, you could be convicted of "conspiracy to sell?"  Huh

I hope that one day I'll be important enough to be arrested for selling bitcoins, too. I would frame the indictment and put it on my wall.

This is GARBAGE media. Your articles are full of half facts, and sorely lacking in actual data.  Bunch of What-ifs and FUD.  Did you even read the complaint against Shrem or the Florida guys?  They weren't arrested "for selling bitcoins".

Please GTFO. Worse than Fox News.

He did not really conspire to launder, but with so little requirements on such a site, it was bound to happen, maybe he was actually ignorant to this?
