Humanity would still progress without money, in fact we would do so much more.  We're not going very far with money, greed ties us to death.

Without money, we would still have technology and we would still have will and purpose in life, it would just be our will instead of the will of the mind of greed.

People just fear change even when it's for the best.

If you eat the landowners then I think that's classed as poaching, not hunting

On topic, I think a moneyless society can work on a small scale (think hippy communes etc.), but human nature seems to corrupt any money system if any individual group has too much power over it, which history has shown seems to happen when any money system/economy gets too big. eg Soviet "communism" which ended up as more of an unfair dictatorship, and the current crony-capitalism that we're living in now.

Currency is a brilliant idea, but human nature seems to corrupt any centrally controlled money system, hopefully Bitcoin can evolve to be a fairer system. Of course there will always be a wealth gap, but at least there won't be any authoritarian puppet masters at the top cheating the system for their own gains.

Providing everyone did their share and helped their fellow human whenever they could.

I doubt that could be achieved; there would always be someone trying to grab top spot and hoarding the pack for themselves.

If you insist on trading for goods you may as well stick with money. It is by far the best tool to facilitate trade. However, if people weren't so selfish and petty, we could move on to a gift economy. (Not to be confused with charity or an actual exchange of gifts.) The world is a place of abundance, believe it or not, and scarcities are manufactured for the sake of profits. You wouldn't be so worried about what other people were contributing, since it wouldn't entirely matter, but I feel that mutual aid is nonetheless the ultimate goal. If we became responsible individuals and got our priorities straight, we could (for the most part) do as we wish and our "job/work" could be something we loved doing, even ever changing as we grow intellectually and spiritually, supported by all and not just a means of supporting ourselves and family.

Sadly, I do not see us ever giving up money, luxuries, militaries, various religious beliefs or any of the other many things and ideals that we believe we cannot be without, yet are the very things which keeps us seperated. Hence we are doomed as a species and will condemn multitudes of other species along with ourselves to the same dismal fate.

Sounds like enslavement.  The distribution of wealth of bitcoin is hardly better than the dollar.

All we must do is remove money and acknowledge karma.  There will be a race for energy, happiness.  Everyone will do as much as they can to spread as much love around them, as they will learn that it all comes back to them.

If you have to be paid (bribed) to take care of your fellow men, then something is severely wrong.  There is a complete imbalance of spiritual energy if humanity lacks basic feeling such as empathy and compassion.

When we have people dying of thirst when we have machines to desalinate salt water and people dying of hunger when our world produces enough food to feed 10 billion, that's how you know something is not right.

People have been living and harvesting food for millennia, they didn't just forget how to grow food, greed is the cause of the desolation of mankind.

If they wanted something they exchanged with something of the similar value, food for food etc.
Of course, in modern society something like this is not possible but I can imagine that paper money will gradually disappear and replaced with cards or just virtual money.

I don't think that virtualization will be the end in the evolution of money. I think we will ultimately live in a 'moneyless' world, but not in the way most people in this thread might think.

Money as we know it could be replaced by an highly efficient automatic barter system where each good and service is directly exchanged into other goods and services based on the requirements of the people doing the barter. So money as an intermediary would become obsolete. Actually it would be a recourse to the beginning of civilization but with improved efficiency due to technological advancement.
