I still use my GPU to mine X11 since there no ASIC for that yet. Scrypt-N is another possibility.

Maybe cryptonotes are still worth it? Check the profit calculator here (in the top menu).

AppleByte (ABY) is still worth it & the pool pays a bonus to CPU & GPU miners, as well as limits the Asic miners to 10mhs.

X11 is only profitable if you have free electricity. Or really low electricity rates.

Right now its best to just keep your rigs, not sell them, in the hopes that BTC rises to new highs.

Or wait till Christmas and then sell them.

3 GPUs running on groestl and 2 running on qubit, mining coins i think have more potential than P&D. I'll have to wait before i can see if it pays out.

Sadly i sold most of mine off.  Just with a decent amount with electricity and heat was not paying off (around 8500+ watts at peak time).   I switched to asics.  J wish i could keep doing GPU miss them just is hard in the current market.

GPU mining will NEVER be profitable ever, even if BTC goes up to $1000-$2000.

During the last quarter of last year, there were thosands of GPU being brought into the market, these GPUs will turn on once BTC rises and keep difficulties high and profits low.

The days of

$10/MHASH/BTC  are long gone.

better to sell and buy new amd/nvidia card, they will perform much better in hash/w ratio

Those GPUs will be turned on during winter as heater. So there will be even less profit.

They will only be profitable when the electricity price is low. Nowadays, most new coins are CPU friendly, not GPU friendly.

I do not have free electricity and I still GPU mine on my PC I use for other tasks so about half the wattage would be paid anyway --> 2x effective efficiency.

That is the spirit. Do not buy GPU for mining only.

To be honest I was considering buying a 280x ... my circulation pump is broken and it's only half the cost (LOL intended!)

Quite a few of those GPUs / rigs got sold off, or are in the active process of being sold off.  They are not being held in reserve.

Just like a couple years ago when BTC asics crushed the fpga / GPU scene for BTC, the same is happening now for Scrypt.  People at those times sold their BTC GPU farms, just like they are now.

Some time in the future there will be another "Scrypt" type algo that comes out and makes GPU mining viable again...and we will again see the GPU crush we say earlier this year.

Mark my words, the cycle never ends.

Not mining with GPU anymore because it's not profitable anymore and I don't have free electricity. I just made a profit when I could and sold all of the GPU's that I have. Now it's more effective to rent rigs instead of purchasing. That's what I discovered and I made quite good profit of it. If you know exactly which coin to mine.

But the present day GPU might not efficient enough to compete next generation ones when the new coins come out.

You are quite right,no x11 ASIC,but X11 FPGA with 280M hashrate has already came out weeks before.
