writing article about digitalcoin for our german investors page. can you pls give me some inside views?
I wrote a thread on the attractive price point of Digitalcoin here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=800481.0as for 'inside views' there isn't much that hasn't already been said. Digitalcoin is basically a fair-start crypto that anyone can participate in if they wish, as of now it's openly developed by those who see promise in it. Since it's not being manipulated for profit there isn't much hype around it. It seems the market cap bottoms out at $100k, right now we're at $200k, so it's a safe investment if one wants to get into crypto. The name brand is important too, "digital coin" is about as literal as it gets. It's up to you to find where value is Thank you

The name brand is important too, "digital coin" is about as literal as it gets. It's up to you to find where value is Thank you There's so much history around Digitalcoin, and recent developments have totally transformed the coin and it's community. Digitalcoin is one of the most mature crypto currencies available today. Launched in May 2013, Digitalcoin quickly amassed a huge following, experienced rapid growth, and exponential increases in value. Several months later there was a severe controversy involving several hundred thousand Digitalcoins that were dumped on the open market, which had a detrimental impact on its value and caused a widespread fallout within the community. The circumstances surrounding this event are still unclear despite community uproar and months of discussion regarding it, and though the specifics are still unknown, of his own admission the source of the influx was the creator and former lead developer, baritus. On September 8th, 2014, after months of controversy, baritus resigned as lead developer. Code repositories for Digitalcoin, Argentum, and Securecoin, as well as websites, domain names, the main forum, etc, were turned over to the Digitalcoin Foundation. Lead by the President of the Foundation, kenel, and Vice President, Tsquared, selected by an open election on the Digitalcoin forum, a development team was formed and the next chapter has begun. Today, the development team consisting of ahmedbodi, xawksow, and samson, is preparing the launch of Digitalcoin V3.0. This trio of exceptional individuals form a perfectly cohesive team because of their expertise in different areas of development. Well known and respected, ahmedbodi is a pioneer within the crypto community, and considered one of the top young developers in the field. Xawksow, a native German, has an amazing talent for beautiful user interfaces and an incredible passion for perfection. A hero member on this forum, samson adds solid experience and brings concepts around ancillary blockchain technologies that may possibly be considered groundbreaking once made public. The diverse global group of businessmen and technical specialists that make up the Digitalcoin Foundation are committed to surpassing the former popularity of Digitalcoin through innovation, honesty, and transparency. With weekly meetings and efforts geared toward development of the Digitalcoin economy as well as the technology, there will certainly be more to come from this group. While there has been little hype and absolutely zero false promises, the Foundation has much in store to bring value for those who invest in Digitalcoin. Stay tuned! TT

Just to clarify, Baritus was not a corrupt dev, he in no way compromised the DigitalCoin network. The drama surrounding him stems from his admission of 560k DGC being dumped on Cryptsy that had originally been in his possession. He claims the coins had been stolen by an ex-employee of his and remained silent on everything else, including posting the address from which the coins belonged; it should be mentioned nobody in the community bothered to search the blockchain themselves for this address, even though they had the exact date and amount of coins for the dumping thanks to Baritus announcing it publicly. Here's Baritus' post about being robbed, on March 9thAnd here's the actual dump on Cryptsy, on March 8thThe only real controversy is that he sourced most of these coins through a public auction for an exchange he was building. He delivered on the exchange, but it did not receive enough volume to be worth anyone's time. I'd guess about 60-75% of all altcoin volume is manipulated, smaller exchanges only have ~5btc average daily volume while widely used ones have 500+, it's obvious most of these markets are rigged. Baritus reimbursed every user their deposited coins and took the site offline, and is now developing it as proprietary software, with shareholders getting a percentage of sales profits rather than exchange fees. If he wanted to cash out DGC it would've been far more beneficial to do it slowly over a period of time instead of wrecking the market like that. I believe he's telling the truth. If he had posted the public address he would've been continuously monitored by people out for revenge but again.. nobody even bothered to search the blockchain themselves. Hell, if he hadn't posted anything this drama never would have manifested. Assuming all this is true it's understandable why he stepped down, sometimes the general public is impossible to deal with. Anyway I'm writing this because so many people complain about things they don't understand, I honestly believe this is not a 'coin-killer' as so many people assume, so I will post the facts publicly and hope people who actually use their brains will come to an informed conclusion. tl;dr 3% of coins that belonged to the original dev are dumped on market, everyone shits themselves. there's been over a million DGC in volume on btc38 alone in the past month. it's seriously not that big of a deal. read it and weep, trolls.

We're still testing it right now and there's a lot of new features and additional functionality in the DigitalCoin V3 wallet. One particular new feature is an expansion of the RPC and debug mode interface to allow easy storage of data in the op_return outputs, this is the kind of feature which will enable anyone to create new higher level protocols on top of the existing block chain. As the end of the month is an approximate target for the V3 introduction (depending on blocks mined between now and the fork block) I think we might see the new wallet being available for download some time next week.

Great work xawksow, ahmed and samson. Looking forward to DGCV3 release. Screenshots of DGCV3 wallet splash screen, block explorer and market data. Coinnoisseur is the winner of the splash screen contest. He presented the Foundation with a series of pictures to choose from. It was a tough choice as the portfolio was spectacular. The Foundation will send out the splash screen bounty to Coinnoisseur later today. Block number you see there, 3812, was my first solo block... I mined DGC on launch night and still mine it today. @voephilis, some screenshots for your article. -tb-

It's up to you to find where value is People still don't understand... ultimately yeah big players will dominate any market, but DGC has been around long enough and PoW rewards kept fairly consistent that it's harder to control than most Proof-of-Stake instamine coins. There isn't much hype here because there is no centralized effort out there to control DGC, as far as i know, anyway. BTC38 controls about 2.7million, some of the more hardcore DGC followers own over 500k, but there doesn't seem to be any collusion to manipulate the price between them. Meaning the current market price is fair, which is something to say when it comes to most altcoins. Hopefully we'll experience some fun volatility later on and that statement will become obsolete but for the time being it's pretty smooth sailing

I have not thought about this much, but you're right cosmoo, many of those who hold large amounts of DGC know each other pretty well and communicate daily on IRC, and price manipulation is never discussed. Thinking about it now, I guess this is somewhat unusual. In fact, the topic never comes up, even on our weekly live calls. Maybe we should be doing some price manipulation, but I think we're all more concerned with making Digitalcoin strong and healthy so it has more value. Maybe this would be considered manipulation by some? Is that how people look at it? The only manipulation we do involves upgrading the technical aspects of Digitalcoin and working on building the Digitalcoin economy. Perhaps this honest approach is so rare that people just can't believe it's true. Well, the concept is simple... Invest in your coin and work toward increasing it's security, functionality, and usefulness. Everyone is welcome to join in.

Hi community, I will be creating a DigitalCoin Pool (US & EU) to add to my current Pools service. ( http://mininfield.com) Since PoW will switch to multi-algo, can the scrypt Pool remain active and other algos Pools be created later? Any specific configuration needed for Pool operators, or just use standard setup? Pools will have a 1%fee, fast auto-payout and min. payout threshold and will be based on nomp. Also, do you have any banners you want to add to miningfield? s. http://www.miningfield.comt. https://www.twitter.com/miningfieldf. https://www.facebook.com/miningfield

You just need to update your scrypt pool and if you are adding SHA and x11 pools, use standard setup. The link to the github will be updated when V3 is released. It is no longer github.com/baritus/digitalcoin. If you have any issues setting up the pool, drop by #digitalcoin irc channel. All DGC developers as well as Foundation members are active there.

Hello all, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ37-ZLZSnchttps://i.imgur.com/Y3z4Srr.jpghttps://i.imgur.com/uzp2MjD.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/NRz8KrY.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/rsAVPWA.pngI am sure some have seen me around the forums and on the IRC chat. I have been looking for a way to get a run of cheap DGC shirts printed out for the community and have finally found a local solution that I think will make everyone happy. My black shirt will be here next week and I will post for everyone to see. There is a limited promo the Digitalcoin foundation is running with these shirts, the first 100 orders placed by people outside of the foundation will receive a gift (Limited to 1 per household). Shirts are shipping from the U.S. Bulk order will be placed on around December 10th or when we have a healthy amount of pre-orders to establish a size pattern. Sizes range from S-3XL and pricing structure for the pre-orders are as followed: Price adjustments are now final:WHITE* USA - 1,200 DGC (2 shirts = 2,000 DGC) * INTERNATIONAL - 1,800 DGC (2 shirts = 3,200 DGC) BLACK* USA - 1,400 DGC (2 for 2,400 DGC) * INTERNATIONAL - 2,000 DGC (2 for 3,600 DGC) BLACK + WHITE* 1 Black + 1 White USA = 2,200 DGC * 1 Black + 1 White INTERNATIONAL = 3,400 DGC Note: Don't worry about the white artifacts on the white shirt, I have seen results of their printing on white material, they will not end up looking like that. Again, I stress to send me a message with your size requested, DGC address, email and shipping address. For those freaking out about privacy, P.O. boxes are allowed. Send DGC to: D64vkXtnZrg7W5AMXdJcRxRLkx7Q45DcyX
