I have 2 antminer u2's and I was wondering if there is still any sha256 coin pool to mine where I would do ok with only 4gh's?

I've been mining Zetacoin on p2pool, but it's REAL slow. About 1 zetacoin every few days. I can mine on bitcoin pools for scraps but the payout thresholds are too high. It would take a few months to reach the .01 btc payout.

I also tried battlecoin with a little success. But there has to be something better.

So please, if you have a BTC pool with a VERY low or no payout threshold or can suggest your pool for my little miners that would be great!

Or if they are trash I'll just pack them up and toss them.

4 GH/s is nothing now unfortunately. 400 GH/s barely mines anything now.

If you have a look at Coinwarz profitability site you're lucky to earn $0.02 a day (and that's now, will be less in the future).

http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency/?sha256hr=4.00&sha256p=2.50&sha256pc=0.2000&sha256c=true&scrypthr=28000.00&scryptp=920.00&scryptpc=0.2000&scryptc=false&scryptnhr=450.00&scryptnp=500.00&scryptnpc=0.1000&scryptnc=false&x11hr=15000.00&x11p=500.00&x11pc=0.1000&x11c=false&x13hr=6500.00&x13p=400.00&x13pc=0.1000&x13c=false&keccakhr=500.00&keccakp=500.00&keccakpc=0.1000&keccakc=false&quarkhr=5000.00&quarkp=500.00&quarkpc=0.1000&quarkc=false&groestlhr=10.00&groestlp=500.00&groestlpc=0.1000&groestlc=false&jhahr=3000.00&jhap=300.00&jhapc=0.1000&jhac=false&blake256hr=3.20&blake256p=300.00&blake256pc=0.1000&blake256c=false&neoscrypthr=20.00&neoscryptp=200.00&neoscryptpc=0.1000&neoscryptc=false&e=Coinbase

If you're leaving a pc on with it plugged in just to mine then you'll be running at a loss.

You'd be better off putting it on ebay and getting what you can for it now, or just keep mining for fun Smiley.

Well, the pc is on anyway. it's my media and file server. it's not as bad as that though.

I can make about 5 cents a day on westhash. But the same problem there. Minimum .004 BTC daily payout. But at least it dumps the dust once a week.

Keychain, memorabilia, maybe frame it, or keep it on your office desk as an ornament.

Nope, nothing left it those things at all.

Mine at Jonny's Pool

Absolutely solo mine with them.  As was pointed out, they cost virtually nothing to run, and if you hit... it's what I do.  I've got 5 of them in a USB hub with an rPi controller mining on Con's solo pool.

Jonny's Pool - Mine with us and help us grow!  Support a pool that supports Bitcoin, not a hardware manufacturer's pockets!  No SPV cheats.  No empty blocks.

Thanks for the suggestion but I'll stick with slow and steady. I already downloaded the entire blockchain in my ignorance and complete lack of knowledge of the difficulty in solo mining bitcoin (actually, it wasn't that hard to set up or take all that long). So I'm already set up to solo mine. I could mine a million Battlecoin before I ever came close to finding a block.

So I guess I'll keep mining battlecoin on bcx.coin-pool.org. It's not the fastest buy I do get about 10 BCX a day and the minimum payout is only 1 bcx.

I still think bitcoin pools could still be viable for low hasrates if they would just lower the payout threshold. Like I said, I was still getting a few scraps even on BTC Guild. It would just take months for me to reach the .01 minimum to ever see any of it.

Stick to slow and steady.

FYI Coinwarz calculator says it will take average of 370711.02 days to solo mine a block with 4 GH/s.

That's 1015 years (and that's without difficulty increases) Grin

Ok, I was a little off. I could mine 3,704,750 BCX before ever coming close to finding a block.  Grin

is it free power 0 cost  to mine the sticks? if you pay  power for those sticks to run.

lets say you use 6-8 watts for the sticks.
6 watts of power  is 144watts  a day
8 watts of power is 196watts a day

so between 4 and 6 kwatts a month at 10 cents your cost is 40 to 60 cents

if you spend 15 cents a kwatts your cost is 60 to 90 cents .

if diff was frozen those sticks earn 83 cents a month before power costs.

So they will stop turning a profit very soon.

If your power is  totally free mine them.

I just checked. I only pay 6 cents/Kw so it's not costing me much to run these. I tried Peercoin. Still not as good as Battlecoin and pretty much the same problem as Bitcoin. It would just take too long to reach the payout threshold. So I guess I already found the coin for low hash-rate SHA256... Battlecoin.
