Cruise has built the first highway autopilot system that installs on your existing vehicle. It uses sensors and advanced machine vision technology to keep you in your lane and a safe distance from the car in front of you. With a unique focus on eliminating the mundane parts of driving and improving safety, Cruise is leading the driverless revolution.

Your Personal Chauffeur

The Cruise RP-1 is always watching the roads, even when you aren't. Our state of the art technology utilizes several sensors, radars, and actuators all controlled by a central computer to make sure you and your loved ones are always safe.

The Sensor Pod

The Cruise RP-1 sees the road and cars around you through the sensor pod mounted on the roof of your car. Through a combination of cameras, radar, and other measurement systems, the Sensor Pod relays what it detects back to the Cruise Computer to make real time decisions on where to go.

I'd LOVE this for my car!

Unfortunately I HATE flying and I have to drive everywhere... I've driven across various countries multiple times just because of that.

Google autonomous cars have been in beta for nearly 5 years. They are currently in the process of working out the kinks, law-wise. No accidents reported so far from the project, except when a human was behind the wheel. I predict they will roll out to the public within 2 - 3 years.
