Hello,
I have damaged a 5970 by inserting an 8pin eps cable instead of the correct 8pin pci express cable.
Im looking for a reasonably priced, half dead 5970,with one core damaged or something similar.
I only need a board with good parts from the 8 pin plug up.You can keep the cooler.
Bitcoints(and paypal) are available.
Thanks

You should figure what part is damaged. May be VRMs damaged, or PWMs. I have some 5870 for parts, with different injuries.

I have this card.

Not sure what is wrong with it.  Works just fine until I start trying to hash with it, then it locks up.  It is six months old.

Just put a defective 5970 for sale on eBay. International shipping might make this too costly for you, but as there aren't many bids yet, it might be still worth it...
I suspect cooked VRMs as there was a fan failure (fan replaced) but I can't be sure.

P2pool tuning guide
Trade BTC for €/$ at bitcoin.de (referral), it's cheaper and faster (acts as escrow and lets the buyers do bank transfers).
