I can honestly handle coffee without either. I'd go with milk, though. Roasting coffee beans for slightly longer can make it sweeter so that can replace the sugar.

I can live without milk, since I'm not a cat or a newborn.
Without sugar is harder because the thing addicts you and screw your taste, so things without sugar will taste bad or like nothing
