How long does the battery last?
Not certain, but I take it to school without brining the charger so it works for a few hours at least. I can measure it in any way you wish if you are serious about it.

What OS does it have?
Right now it is running Arch linux, my golden child. I will of course wipe it. It will come to you empty, or I could drop Ubuntu on it if desired.

Off a jump drive. Or a USB dvd drive. Or write out an XP image to the drive using Acronis (or disc imaging of some sort). Or use PXE to boot Windows XP installer over the network. Or run VMWare ESXi on it, giving a VM direct access to the drive and doing any of the previous. Or pull the hard drive out, throw it another machine and install XP.

I'm sure there are more, but I'm late for work.
