I was a fairly big fan of NEOS recently but have become a bit discouraged and alarmed by the dev of this coin changing and finally locking threads here that concern this coin.

This came after the first thread was shutdown and a second moderated thread started where there was nothing but positive stated in the first thread. It made no sense then, and most certainly did not the second time.

There was no actual harassment of anyone in either thread that would justify just shutting down these threads. Heated debate? Questions? Skepticism? Absolutely. Some name calling towards the end? Yes. But constant harassment? Not a chance. This dev has actually been treated with kid gloves and much respect as crypto goes and his actions don't speak to someone with many skills in business or a respect for his investors.

For historical purposes here are the links to threads 1 and 2.

Thread 1:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=744291.0

Thread 2:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=757984.0

The purpose of this thread is simple. To give the people who invest in NEOS a place to speak their minds either to say thank you or to air their concerns. While there was some heated debate towards the end of the second thread and some name calling needed to be moderated, there was no justification for the locking of either thread. These are not the actions of a business minded dev who just pulled off a successful and lucrative ICO. They are quite alarming as most of us know where the locked threads of devs who no longer which to monitor them go, which is down to 0.00000001 Satoshi.

In full disclosure I divested my last holdings of NEOS after the second thread was locked "due to constant harassment by people wishing to do the project harm (trolling)".

That was just not true. It was more along the lines of "I can't be bothered to actually do my job as a businessman, so I will just lock the threads and hang out with my buddies in IRC".

So now there is a thread to speak without the dev's interference and there will be no moderation.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

I honestly think you did a wrong move by selling your NEOS.
It`s a good solid project regardless of any minor flaws like the jojo designed blockchain.
I was (and am) a firm beliver in the value of NEOS longer term, good concept, good developers, good community.
I belive that the biggest downside of NEOS was the blockchain resign with difficulty adjustment, target spacing etc
because majority of NEOS community was willing to dedicate 24/7 hashrate but the openness to abuse by
large amounts of hashpower killed 24/7 mining.
Many of the coins mined by those that just targetted during low difficulty was dumped right away, lowering prices
with constants sell pressure.
Cmon there must be a way to implement some form of gravity well that prevens a blockchain from going
up/down 2000+% 6-7 times / day.
Sometimes you see the 26-30 millions to 3 millions difficulty drop only take 10 minutes and then its up to 26-30 millions
after 10-20 minutes again only to get stuck on 1-2 hour SHA blocks.
Whats is different? Why is the same thing not happening to Saffron?
Saffron is multipool targetted all the time like NEOS but dont go into a crazy banana difficulty jojo swing..
Syntaks hinted something about this being a intention of design its sad he closed the other thread before he could
elaborate a little on that..

Also the way the developers actually allow themself time to deliver on a scene that usually wants what they want 3 seconds after they yelled at their mother
caused some friction.
i think its clear the the average "cryptoguy" think he waited to long on V2 and have moved on to "other awesome coins".
I am confident that they will deliver and that V2 will live up to expectations.

1. If I were you OP, I would buy asap

2. V2 is out this weekend, and neos is already up 30% since thread was locked. It will be reopened.

3. Syntaks thinks out of the box and is different, this does not make him a bad businessman lol. That is incorrect imo

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=186785
Here is the link to my trust settings here on forum. This trust system is very unfair. I make good on every deal Ive ever made. I had many, many deals as you can see and I never scammed anyone. All it takes is a random account to give you negative trust and youre screwed. Tomatocage has never even talked to me ever but when the random acct hit me with negative trust, Tomatocage came right behind him and marked neg trust again so obviously he was the one who did it. You can look at Tomatocage trust and see how many of his compeditors at the currency exchange thread he labeled scammers. I never scammed anyone. My trust was green over 20 before this. I hope it never happens to you because the mods cant help you.

So now there is a thread to speak without the dev's interference and there will be no moderation.

First: I was also of the opinion, that it was a mistake to lock the Thread.

But: I thought, Syntaks would lock it "forever". But in the IRC he said, that it is just until V2 is released.

And: His reason is very understandable. There were some guys constantly fudding the Thread and making pressure. His intention is probably very "simple": He will answer all the question and also the silly FUD with quality-development instead time-stealing debates. He already proved that he is very industrious - all the time coding. He also proved transparency. He is everytime helpful and 24/7 on IRC, answering questions and informing the community about the progress. Nearly everyday he announces Updates. New Homepage, added to Mintpal V2, Multipool in the works, V2 is coming.

Everybody just should look at his Posts or on Twitter or YouTube or join the IRC:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=175669;sa=showPosts
https://twitter.com/NeosCoin
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS2fm36A11dRE7S2VYa3H3w
http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=#neoscoin

Under the line: For me, Neos is the best Project I know. It's exactly what I've searched for. And honestly, I'm nearly incapable to understand why some people sold the last days. Everybody has his own reasons, but I suspect: They are mostly uninformed and/or very impulsive. It will turn out to be mistake.

This is really awesome

"Coins Source awards NeosCoin a 6/7 Trust verification score, the last point will be awarded on the 1 month anniversary of Neos."

"Coins Source interviewed Twoturtles (alias of the lead developer/founder) of NeosCoin for a potential news story coverage that would be launched. A Coins Source employee asked Two if he wanted to become trust verified with Coins Source and he kindly agreed. Shortly after, On August 29th, 2014 T.k. Hamed (CEO of Coins Source) spoke with Two for about 1 hour on the phone, and we inquired several question about Neos. Twoturtles was quick to respond and give a great overview on his philosophy and the direction NeosCoin would be headed in.

The lead developer/founder of NeosCoin is perceived to be very level-headed and highly skilled when it comes to coding his coin. He shares a vision of creating the best coin possible, and has been working relentlessly to achieve a solid code structure for Neos.

We had no trouble in identifying the lead behind NeosCoin and he promptly submitted all information verifications within an 24-hours of us requesting it. At this time, Coins Source awards NeosCoin a 6/7 Trust verification score, the last point will be awarded on the 1 month anniversary of Neos."

it's been a little while since i first heard of neoscoin and started doing some research. I havent invested in it yet just window shopping. There are a handfullof people that seem to really be behind it but more saying its just more of the same. Since i started looking at it the price has went down on it. I was going to buy a few as a second investment but now i'm not sure. I know price of alts usually go down when btc does and it crashed so that could be part of the down trend. What i'm posting for is i would like to be convinced one way or the other. all opinions are welcome but please have something to back it up. thanks for your input.
