I am looking for someone that is interested in managing a minecraft server with me Smiley

I will also be developing custom modifications and integrating crypto (dogecoin, bitcoin, reddcoin), overall, I think it will be a great experience!

If you are interested, post below, pm me, email me (admin @ kbve.com) or whatever means it takes to get the message across.

I have a 16gb dedicated from OVH that I am not using with OpenVZ ready to deploy the minecraft container Tongue (Ports are already forward and java should be installed and ready!) All thats left currently is bukkit, plugins and then some custom work!

The server wont be using crypto directly, but probably coior coins and have a manual withdrawal system, to avoid BitVegas-like problems Tongue

If any more information is require, just pm me!

I will make it an offline version and use a custom panel as a verification method Cheesy (Its more secure than just relying on Minecraft's database to verify usernames)

I also own a 24/7 network server (Bungee-d 8 servers or something). That could be a good platform for the server - multiple gamemodes all with crypto.

As I said, please PM. I've made too many posts to revisit each thread individually.

If I recall correctly, implementing CryptoCurrency in a Minecraft server is against Minecraft's rules. Most likely the server would be taken down if you release it.

Then again Mojang was bought by Microsoft now so who knows

No, the EULA still applies. You can't integrate cryptocurrency as a server currency as it would be seen as a hybrid currency, unless people can ONLY withdraw the cryptocurrency and not deposit. Basically you would only be able to lose money.

BA Computer Science, University of Oxford
Dissertation was about threat modelling on distributed ledgers.

Doesn't matter, Rules are rules, like DiamondCardz said.

I'd love for Cryptocurrency servers to come back but they just can't. The only way I can see it working is if someone made a clone of Minecraft where the same rules don't apply, but I don't think anyone has the motivation for that.

The US Supreme Court ruled Bitcoin as a virtual currency, if I remember correctly. Minecraft's EULA prohibits giving single players boosts or advantages if they spent or give the owner hard cash. So far, I'm pretty sure Bitcoin doesn't count as hard cash.

oh please, I will just award players in crypto for playing... and I will just make the income through Adsense.

I feel like the bigger issue right now is to establish the general community and then work it out from there.

Fuck it, the first version of the server will be a faucet-like concept, hell I can just implement my moonbattle concept using factions mod.

^ Based on that...
We can still sell cosmetics and bitcoins count as hard currency. (Just wanted to clear that up).

So long as the server complies with the rules I'd be happy to do some building work for you, if you like.

The question that arises is... what if players want to sell their items?

What does the EULA say in terms of that!

The EULA's probably against it: as you're giving a player a perk that doesn't apply to the entire playerbase.

I'll see if I can come on sometime tomorrow. Smiley
