My best friend's good friend, (Moon Kim) recently won $960K in a poker tournament.
He is the guy in red holding the trophy:

http://blog.worldpokertour.com/moon-kim-defeats-shooting-stars-to-become-wpt-bay-101-champion/

Moon will compete in a large poker tournament in Las Vegas from May 18th.
I don't have the exact details for the tournament yet,  but I suspect it will be televised.
Tournament details: http://www.bellagio.com/files/casino/FiveDiamondWPC.pdf

Moon has agreed that he, and his group will all wear Bitcoin shirts durring the tournament.

He has requested 8 Mens L size shirts.

Which Bitcoin design shirt will be best for this opportunity?
Ideally it should be one that is Bitcoin & Poker related.

Lets jump on this opportunity ASAP!

He has to use Tuxavent's, his shirts are top quality and he lives in Vegas.  His shirts say "Ask me about Bitcoin" with the website and a bitcoin graphic, it is THE only one to use.

That is the one.  I have those and when I wear them I get asked about Bitcoin all the time, that is the ONLY t-shirt that millions of people will view and say "hey I should check out bitcoin.org"

I think the bitcoin shirt should just have the logo B on it.  Gold on gray I think would look better.   A B on a suit might look more classy.

Subtle is normally good.

In this case: what would be the point? The only people who know the B means bitcoin are already bitcoin users.

The minimal shirt contains the minimum necessary Google search: the word "bitcoin".

The ask me about Bitcoin is way to much.

He should not wear that.

The other one is much cooler but maybe just a tiny bit too discreet to catch any attention?
But still better.

Any ideas for a text or an image?

Not to put a damper on this, but I used to play poker as my main income for 2.5 years. I've never heard of Moon Kim, and it looks like he just got lucky on one tournament:

http://www.pokernews.com/news/2012/03/moon-kim-wins-2012-world-poker-tour-bay-101-shooting-star-12204.htm

If you look at the hand histories, he binked favourable cards to put him in the lead when he was behind. Like the hand where he had 44 was badly played (chasing a one card open ended) unless there was some meta game going on (which is unlikely for an amateur). So he's unlikely to get far in this event - these events usually have loads of people (especially the WPT which is a mega crowd drawer) and only the final few tables are televised.

I can do my polo at cost ($22) and provide one of them free if there was support.  Time is an issue though.  To get eight in one size (I stock 2-3) i would need to know by Friday.

I personally believe the polo is best as it peaks interest and looks good but A tshirt design with sponsors could be done as well and I could sponsor half of it myself or with others.  I think something simple like:

Bitcoin.org

Due to the DOJ repeal of the wire act pertaining to online poker it might and probably is legal to play online poker for U.S. citizens.  All you have to do is find a poker room that accepts player to player transfers.  Merge, Bodog, Cake I don't think allow these transfers.  But a good BTC business would be a middle man of BTC to poker site transfers.   Make the business, then advertise those shirts on tv.  I say this because I think it is 100% legal, however consult your lawyer.  Also have a rakeback system in-place to make more money and lower fees.  I just want to play internationally again with my right as an American to pursue happiness.

Kim went all in with Pocket 4s preflop. He wasn't chasing anything. Unless you're referring to a different hand in the article which I didn't see.

I think he must be talking about a different hand, because in this one the draw wasn't open-ended either.

I suggest the "I use coins" t-shirt.
 http://www.iusecoins.com/
It has both the logo and the bitcoin.org address.

I own one myself and use it regularly. The quality is good and its amazing how many random people approach me to ask about bitcoin, when I wear it. (I try to always wear it when I fly.)

He's gonna wear a Bitinstant shirt  Smiley

If we're going to go with BitInstant, we need a live LCD tshirt playing the "Why Wait" video. 8D

You guys missed the mark by a mile. Let me see if I can help. About 90% of the poker players are male. 98% of them are straight males. Straight males like sexy women. See where I'm going with this here? Thought so. Fire up the the LadyBytes video.

Only six entrants make the televised final table and get significant TV exposure.  The chance of any single entrant, whether pro or amateur, making the final six is quite small.  However, more entrants will get very brief coverage in the "color" portion of play leading up to the final table.

There are rules limiting "sponsorship logos" that may be worn at the final table.  Some of the suggestions here might be considered "sponsorship logos" and some not.

The tournament starts on May 19.  The final "TV" table will be recorded on May 26.

Tuxavant was nice enough to ship 8 shirts:

If people have other physical shirts that they are ready to ship right away,  I'm happy to provide the shipping address.
Moon can decide for himself which of the shirts he wants to wear.
Just PM / Email me asking for the address.

I just want to play internationally again with my right as an American to pursue happiness.

iirc there was never anything illegal about online poker in the US, only that it became illegal to cash out your winnings through certian channels like credit cards.

How big is the biggest Bitcoin poker site? They should have an IPO on glbse and use the money to run an ad on any widely publicized poker tournament.

Do not waste your time debating whether Bitcoin can work. It does work.

"Early adopters will profit" is not a sufficient condition to classify something as a pyramid or Ponzi scheme. If it was, Apple and Microsoft stock are Ponzi schemes.

There is no such thing as "market manipulation." There is only buying and selling.

Don't forget a hat:

I think the word bitcoin on the shirt with the "B" logo on a hat would be awesome.  If he gets the shirt pulled, then the hat will live on hopefully.

Holy shit that is a stringent set of regulations. All logos have to be pre-approved, no more than 2 people can wear the same logo, max 2 logos from different unrelated companies per person, no logos on hats or anywhere other than left or right breast and sleeve, maximum 6 square inches of logo size, etc.

iirc there was never anything illegal about online poker in the US, only that it became illegal to cash out your winnings through certian channels like credit cards.

Well more technical even that was never illegal for players.  The UIGEA made it illegal for banks, credits cards, and other financial institutions (western union, paypal, etc) to process cashflows (deposits or withdrawals) for the purposes of facilitating online gambling (except state sponsored horse racing, and lotteries).

It was also illegal for companies to offer online gaming sites which accepted real money wagers by US players (either by action or inaction).

It was never illegal for players to deposit, play, win, lose, or withdrawal any funds at any time.

Meh.  Don't private property holders have the FREEDOM to set the rules for their property?  If the WPT wanted to require every person play in WPT uniform that is certainly their right and isn't constraining anyone's freedom.  People have the freedom to not play.  If WPT rules ever get to heavy handed players will choose to play in other tournaments.

This thread makes me miss poker so much. I've spent a dozen years of my life doing nothing but play poker in Tunica, Biloxi and Vegas, and online. I've cashed out in many tournaments, live and online, going deep a couple times on major event online. And to think it all started at the El Cortez in Las Vegas in 1994 after leaving Houston.

asked/answered somewhere in this thread. He's just doing it as a favor, but at least one of the other 7 guys with him "knows it better". I can't recall what that means. But even if it's very little, the net sum of network effect outweighs the few around him that figured out he's just a shill for us.

He knows a little about Bitcoin.  I told him that if anyone asks about it,  he can just tell them that "you can use Bitcoin to play poker on the internet for real money."

Awesome, awesome, awesome.  Please make it to the final table.

"1. Players are allowed to wear up to two (2) pre-approved sponsorship logos at a WPT Final Table. However, only one (1) logo may be for a gaming company. If a player would like to wear two (2) pre-approved, non-gaming sponsorship logos, such logos may not be for the same company or affiliated companies (for example, a player may not wear one logo for Coke and one logo for Sprite).
2. Each logo may be no larger than six (6) square inches (e.g., 2”x3”, 3”x2”, 1”x6”, 6”x1”).
3. Players may wear logos on their left and/or right breast pocket and/or on their shirt sleeves. No other sponsorship logos will be allowed anywhere on a player, including on hats or caps."

"We are just fools. We insanely believe that we can replace one politician with another and something will really change. The ONLY possible way to achieve change is to change the very system of how government functions. Until we are prepared to do that, suck it up for your future belongs to the madness and corruption of politicians."

Could there be a get out in the fact that it's not sponsorship and not a corporation?  Would there be an objection if the shirt said "I use dollars"?

Unfortunately for us,  but it seems to have worked for him,  he decided to wear his "lucky shirt" rather than his Bitcoin shirt today:

From the standpoint of publicity for Bitcoin, it doesn't matter what shirt he wears unless and until he is among the final six who will comprise the "TV table" on Saturday.

I just thought of something. I've read the rules about not wearing a shirt with ads unless approved, but what about a tattoo, albeit a temporary one on his arm(s) (or legs, if wearing shorts)?

Or wearing these...

how much we think these are worth? I'd totaly buy a pair for 4 BTC

how much would it cost to produce? How many would we need to produce to get them to a 4 BTC / pair sale price?

I was just told that Moon Kim is competing in the biggest poker tournament of the year starting on July 7th in Las Vegas and finishing on the 16th.
He has promised to wear the Bitcoin T-shirt  every day of the competition.
First prize is more than $10,000,000 USD.

I will post photos when they are available.

A few days ripeness is nothing at a poker table. :-)

I sent him 7 or 10 shirts total,  so he should be ok.
Then again,  "ripeness" could be a strategy used to distract his opponents from their game.
