Hello, I was just wondering

What is Bitcointalk's policy on one user running multiple accounts? May a user create another account to make posts without being personally identifiable? (Possibly, through a VPN)

This is quite useful if you hold political views that can he held against you at any time, especially if you wish to write or have somehow accidentally revealed websites expounding on controversial views that hold articles that were supposed to have been written by incognito artists.

You can have as many accounts on as many connections as you want. Using vpns or having known or unknown alt accounts is ok too.

I recommend running Tor over your VPN. A VPN by itself will not protect you if you're sharing controversial views that your government may have an issue with.

Anyway, it is fully within the rules of BCT to have as many accounts as you wish.

Known tor exit nodes often have "evil" making you need to pay a fee to register.

For a newbie to Bitcoin, creating a large amount of these is a bad idea.

And secondly, I don't think most people here who are creating many alts would be doing a lot of stuff that would be dangerous enough for the government to ask the VPN provider for logs.

No longer active on bitcointalk, however, you can still reach me via PMs if needed.

I don't have a problem with alt accounts as long as they're not used for evading bans. If you're hesitant to say something controversial because you don't want it to be associated with your name, please create an alt account and say it.

So, the answer is that you can create and use as many accounts as you want, as long as none of your accounts is banned. Smiley

In that case, I'm good to go, I'll watch out for that tax jambola2 is talking about!
