I assume this stat is heavily influenced by facebook games and phone apps.  The hardcore gamers will always be male dominated because women value balancing their life far more vs males.

Most of the women play flash games on facebook , most male gamers buy RPG , shooters and simulators and spend 100 times more to get a real gaming computer with all the accessories.

How about making a poll on how much women and male spend on games?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say it'll be females...usually the mothers spending money on the games for their male offspring

Though I confess I've spend thousands of dollars when I was big on Second Life. Thankfully Open Sim solved that problem.
