OP is such a an idiot.

The exchanges are closing off trading to stop a possible hacking/exploit. That's not centralization, that's called, "Exchanges preventing a possible exploit/hack in which They would lose a lot of money/go bankrupt if it happened"

@Stealthcoin, he's a douchebag troll that is the developer of that shitcoin, Stealthcoin.

You're the idiot who in uninformed. Exchanges are not halting trading. The are halting deposits and withdrawals. Which means the responsible people who don't leave their coins on the exchange are fucked for 24 hours. How did that work out for gox?

That's what I meant. Did you also read that all the coins would be held in offline wallets, unlike what Gox did? Or maybe you forgot that, you disgusting troll.

the more things change, the more they stay the same. Same old losers, same old scams, same old song and dance.

I sent all of 30xmr, one days mining from my farm, 6 hours before the said attack. Because you never know when shit like this happens. I am surprised no one cares. Everyone should be pissed at the exchanges as well as the monero devs. Still no attack but we're locked down like a fucking terror alert.

After this I'm done replying to you're retardness.

The trading was halted, because if an TW attack was carried out, your coins would be GONE. You're a fucking idiot mate.

Lying.  Thats' interesting because there isn't a single lie on this thread that I've made.

You on the other hand.

It's funny that you emphasis my trading/withdrawal/depositing error when I've told you that I meant withdrawal/depositing when I typed trading. I guess you're simply incapable of comprehending that.

Please go back to school.

We asked the exchanges to do this as a precautionary measure.

Had BCX been ethical and had there been responsible disclosure we would not have this situation.

When we had the block 202612 attack we asked exchanges to halt trading as well as deposits and withdrawals, as in the 20 minutes after it happened we were reeling and trying to figure out what had just happened. That emergency halt lasted longer than the 24 hours we've asked for. If you don't like the actions we took to protect our users then there are plenty of other cryptocurrencies for you to choose from.

Look guys the name of this coin is "Monero."

Its stupid.

Can you imagine Warren Buffet mentioning "Monero" as the investment of the future at his shareholder meetings? Can you imagine serious talking heads on CNBC and Bloomberg chattering over the potential of "monero"?

I can't, because the same is silly. Esperanto was silly and combining the words "money" and "dinero" is just silly.

Besides, the masses are having a hard enough time getting into BTC. You think after they master the BTC wallet they're going to immediately want to learn it all over again for Monero? I sincerely doubt it. Theres 10 altcoins that currently stand a better chance of becoming the next bitcoin than XMR does, and I'm telling you, the name doesn't help.

A silly name is indicative of the preplanned short-term nature of this coin, IMHO.

The retardness is strong within you.

Bitcoin only has 1million, yes, 1million users(There are over 7billion people on earth), probably a lot less than 1million actually...... I've also asked at least 100 people by now, and none of them even knew what Bitcoin was, except for a few(very nerdy/geeky) individuals

The masses don't even know Bitcoin exists...When I mention Bitcoin to someone that Does know it exists(very rarely do I find someone that does), they think it's play money, because the name Bitcoin, sounds like shit.

I don't give 2 fucks about Monero, but the name Monero, is 100,000,000,000,000x better than the name, Bitcoin. It's actually the only coin name that I find doesn't sound stupid or childish.

Its stupid.

Can you imagine Warren Buffet mentioning "Apple" as the investment of the future at his shareholder meetings? Can you imagine serious talking heads on CNBC and Bloomberg chattering over the potential of "Apple"?

I can't, because the same is silly. Naming it something generic was silly and naming it after a fruit is just silly.

Besides, the masses are having a hard enough time getting into IBM. You think after they master the IBM PC they're going to immediately want to learn it all over again for Apple? I sincerely doubt it. Theres 10 companies that currently stand a better chance of becoming the next PC than Apple does, and I'm telling you, the name doesn't help.

Sounds just like my bank when they froze all my accounts for 5 days due to THEIR deposit error. I had to beg them to release everything because some dumb cunt cashier put someone else's 500 dollars in my account.

More good news.

MoneroPool.com is a fast and reliable Monero Mining Pool with low fees. Thank you for mining with us!
14-09-23: For your safty automatic payments are disabled for 24 hours.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Pools locked, exchanges locked. Luckily I only mine and don't hold xmr for more than a day.
Ridiculous.

Are you going to cripple the coins economy every time some one cries wolf? And you want people to invest in this? If your coin is defective then it should die and not have someone intervene solely to protect its market cap.

Is this monero or bank of america?

I disagree. Bitcoin is the perfect name. It has thousands of times more users than Monero. I dont care where you pull the 10,000 figure from.

I think you give much more than 2 fucks about Monero, othewise you wouldn't have let yourself get all in a tizzy so publicly for so long over it.

You think Bitcoin is a perfect name because of it's influence as the first cryptocurrency, nothing else, and the only reason Bitcoin has 1,000's of users more than any other cryptocurrency is because it was the first and had a few years headstart, not to mention new cryptocurrencies are having much much bigger communites than Bitcoin ever did was it first came out(because of more awareness), so it's only logical that a new coin will take over Bitcoin eventually.

Everyone I've known who wasn't a techie/geek or not involved with Bitcoin deeply(which is 99.9% of people) thought Bitcoin was play money or didn't know it exist.. They never took it seriously and honestly, Bitcoin is a pretty shitty name. Anything with "coin" in it, sounds like play money.

I don't care about Monero specifically, I care about upholding the truth(with a bit of comedic input)
