I created this topic because I want to learn basics about mining like "what is a gh/s", why should you contribute to mining, is there revenue to make with mining, are there many types of mining(cloud, home, or what?)

Pick one of those and give me BASIC information/definition of what it is/what it does and be very clear for any newbie that might read this post so they can learn from it.

** If this topic should be in another part of the forum like "Begginners and help" or else just let me know.

What is mining ?

Mining is the process of running SHA256 double round hash verification processes in order to validate transactions and provide the requisite security for the public ledger of the bitcoin network. The speed at which you mine is measured in hashes per second.

I think searching is your best option.  The amount of things covered in this is just a lot.  You might as well write a book about mining.
