Recently I got this USB hub from
klintay (
10 Port USB Hub) and he asked if I would mind doing a small review. The hub arrived from China to me (Ohio, USA) in only 5 business days...very well boxed up I might add! In the box I got the hub, power brick, USB (A to B) cable, and some metal ears for mounting. The first thing I noticed was the metal frame and it had some weight to it...I really hate cheap plastic hubs since they slide around so easy. The build quality is easily the same as the expensive Anker hubs that cost 2-3 times more.
Once I got the hub plugged in I figured I would test it with some USB miners I have laying around and also use it to power a Raspberry Pi that controls them
After using it to run some gridseeds and the Pi I figured why not upgrade my hub for my desktop? After installing this hub I realized it would never leave my desktop again...I love being able to charge multiple phones / tablets /and running my USB fan and backup drive. My older hub would not power that many things at once...and if you plugged in too much shit got flaky!
As far as the more technical specs of this hub:
Specifications
- 10 Front facing Standard A USB ports
- 0.5 - 2A per port with 17mm port spacing
- Upstream port support high speed (480M)
- Compatible with Windows 98SE /ME /2000 /XP /Vista /7, Mac OS 9.1 or above, Linux 2.4 or above
- Box includes 1 x USB hub, 1 x 12V 5A Power Adapter, 1 x USB cable
- Rack Mountable
Now for the best part...It can easily run any type of USB miners and only costs $35!
The only real USB hubs I have seen that compare build quality wise are Anker Hubs and they run $65+
klintay also offers more high quality hubs
10 Port (one I reviewed)
