Ł

What does everyone think? Kind of like how ฿ is used for BTC sometimes.

the slash on the L kind of looks like a t, hence LTC

Personally, I don't especially like using the Baht symbol (฿) for Bitcoin.
The "L with stroke" has the advantage of not being already in use as a currency symbol, but it still closely resembles the Pound sign (£), especially when handwritten.

I don't think any symbol should be associated with Litecoin until it gets more popular.

Its much easier to recognize a 3 letter acronym than a symbol if you're a newbie.

"Hey, what's Ł?"
v.s.
"Hey, what's LTC?"

I prefer the latter for now.

So far, LTC seems to be the best choice of all the options presented (IMHO). Keep going though guys! This could be that hallmark thread of decision! Cheesy

I like it but I'm not sure how to type it.

depending on your keyboard and text editor/website it should probably be: Alt + 0321 (utf-8) or Alt + 0163 (iso-8859-1 - bitcointalk.org uses this charset, don't know why they won't switch to utf-8...)

I think it would look better with two close parallel lines crossing the L instead of just one for a picture of it but for the font one line makes sense.

I think for both Bitcoin and Litecoin the official versions should have two strokes, but until we get our own Unicode characters, the Baht and the Polish Ł can do for now.

Companies claiming they got hacked and lost your coins sounds like fraud so perfect it could be called fashionable.  I never believe them.  If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins.  I maintain no ability to recover or reproduce the keys, not even under limitless duress or total intrusion.  Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice.  Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.

It's nice to know that even casascius doesn't view litecoins as a hostile cryptocurrency and is open-minded to the idea of an alt-chain, unlike SC/MC which the entire community has a consensus that it is a scam.

That's because it is.  LTC has the source code available.  That makes a huge difference.
