Hi, I'm Hyperwyrm
New to Bitcoin.

I'll translate Japanese to English for you.

My guideline rate is currently 0.06BTC per 100 Japanese characters. The rate may be slightly less or slightly more depending on your source text.
(Or a fair bit more if, for example, you ask me to translate a haiku and want me to craft a poetic masterpiece as a translation )

I can also transliterate Japanese (into romaji) or transcribe audio for you (provided it's reasonably clear).

Skill level: I am JLPT N1 and have been learning Japanese for over 10 years. I haven't sought professional translation qualifications yet.
I pay a lot of attention to detail, research unfamiliar information in great depth, and work hard to find the most natural and faithful wording.

Your one post makes me run but the ordasity within your typing makes me stay.
How much would you charge, Say i provide you with a song's lyric sheet, I understand your 0.01ß per character, but i would prefer not to have to work at finding the lyric sheet without knowing weather or not what im doing is a waste of time

Oh and might i mention that i do not want the translation to be "human friendly", I am in the process of learning japanese and any Conversion that im unaware of could be a Major problem.

I'd prefer to be able to see the song lyrics before committing, but if you think they'll be hard to find, I won't push it - especially since this is the first translation here.

Since you're learning Japanese:
After you receive the translation, I'm quite happy to explain (to a reasonable extent) why I translated something a certain way or provide a more literal translation.

When it comes to Kanji characters i cannot read them, so could you put thier Romaji equivalent in with them?

(Strange, I set this topic to notify but didn't get anything by email... )

I can include romaji too, but occasionally there are multiple ways to read a kanji and the reading isn't marked (e.g. 歪む being either 'hizumu' or 'yugamu' with virtually identical meaning). Unless I also have the audio there's no guarantee the romaji will be 100% correct - just a warning.

The value of bitcoin on Mt.Gox has increased dramatically since I started this topic (from just over $5 to just under $9 per coin) so I'm reducing the fee here. ._.
Now 0.005BTC/character (0.5 bitcents).

As for English to Japanese:
In general translators should only translate into their mother tongue (native language). I posted a 1000+-character introductory post on Lang-8 half a year ago, and a native speaker described my writing as "fluent Japanese with hardly any errors to correct", but still, there were a couple of errors. Unlike J-to-E, I can't guarantee that the text would sound natural to a native speaker. In addition, it would take me considerably longer to produce than a J-to-E translation, so I'd have to charge more for a lesser service.
I'd prefer to stick to what I know I can do very well

The above request was settled by PM. There was already a translation around, so I linked to that and provided corrections and explanations of my own.
(The regular amount was not charged of course!)

Rate changed again (sick of that yet? ) after a helpful discussion with JackRabiit.
Hopefully this puts it more in line with the expectations of people looking for translations of songs etc. (rather than translations for business).
